A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court

Bag om A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court

""A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court"" is a classic novel by Mark Twain, first published in 1889. The story follows the adventures of a 19th-century American named Hank Morgan, who is mysteriously transported back in time to the court of King Arthur in medieval England. With his knowledge of modern technology and his quick wit, Hank finds himself in a position of power and influence in the court, but he also faces challenges and obstacles as he tries to navigate the unfamiliar customs and politics of the time. As he becomes more involved in the affairs of the kingdom, Hank must also confront the reality of the violence and oppression that underlie the chivalric ideals of Arthurian legend. Through humor, satire, and a touch of science fiction, Twain explores themes of power, morality, and the clash of cultures in this entertaining and thought-provoking novel.Mainly the Round Table talk was monologues -- narrative accounts of the adventures in which these prisoners were captured and their friends and backers killed and stripped of their steeds and armor. As a general thing -- as far as I could make out -- these murderous adventures were not forays undertaken to avenge injuries, nor to settle old disputes or sudden fallings out; no, as a rule they were simply duels between strangers. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
