Love or lust? Brianna can’t remember and Fallon isn’t sure, but fate put them in front of each other with the same goal: finding the Book of Divinity. When Brianna awoke, her body was battered and a year of her life missing. Surrounded by strangers, all claiming her the guardian of a sacred book, she was rightfully skeptical. She’d not escaped one cult to get dragged into another. The last thing Fallon Tegan wanted was to claim his mate. He’d spent his life mediating his family’s squabbles, and he didn’t want another burden. But to save her life, he bonded them, tied their souls together. Even as he doubted his decision, he couldn’t regret the feel of her in his arms. Time is short, and the stakes high as they work together to help Brianna recover her stolen memories and recover a book that could very well end their world.
Ran-Del Jahanpur is a warrior of the Sansoussy Forest, trained in both the mental and physical Disciplines of his people. He thinks he's prepared for any danger the forest might hold, but his skills prove useless when he's caught in a hi-tech trap. Soon Ran-Del finds himself in a city so alien it might as well be another world-machines speak, vehicles fly, and his captors' weapons can inflict pain without touching him. Every time Ran-Del tries to escape, he's foiled by a technology he doesn't understand. As terrifying as the city is, his kidnapper, the enigmatic Baron Hayden, exudes a jovial affability that worries the Sansoussy even more. What can such a powerful man want with a Sansoussy warrior, who can neither read nor write and knows nothing of city ways? The Baron's daughter Francesca clearly knows more than she's saying, but Ran-Del's psy sense tells him only she's being truthful, not what she's thinking. And it's only after it seems that Ran-Del has escaped the city and its dangers, that he finds out how thoroughly he has been caught.
'Mother's coming.' Scar wants nothing more than to forget what happened down in the tunnels, and what happened in that nightmarish other world, but things are not going to be that easy. Scar brought something back with her. A claw taken from an ancient vampire God. A claw with a nasty tendency of driving people to their darker impulses. A claw people would kill for. But, that may not be the only thing she brought back with her. Something is loose in the forest around Haven. A looming darkness that is spreading through the crows and driving people mad. A darkness that keeps sending the same chilling warning, 'Mother's coming'. But will Scar be able to stop the nightmare that is coming? Or will she be consumed by it?
