After leaving her home in Georgia, due to mysterious and unsavory familial circumstances, Laci resides in a boarding house in New Jersey, waiting tables at a diner. Feeling isolated, Laci's world suddenly moves into the fast lane after Jack, a customer, takes a liking to her and friendships with their coworkers grow, as does her faith.
