Bag om Fires Blaze
This story takes place in glamorous, yet crime-ridden, New York City. Jackson Fires is the Lead Detective of the Hate Crimes Squad. His team are close and friendly, creating a sense of almost being a family. The reader gets to know a little bit about each member of the squad. You will also learn about their personal lives and affairs, reminding us that detectives are just as human as we are. They will become like old friends, you've known for years. While not the only focus, the romantic and passionate relationship between Fires and his girlfriend will keep the girls dreaming. The story deals with such serious issues as homicide, kidnapping and the results of grudges kept too long. Yet the story still manages to be light and at times humorous. It is the perfect combination for a great evening read. It keeps you on your toes and makes you flip page after page, yet it will not give you night terrors afterwards. The story opens with a missing college student. He is not a native of New York, his parent's frustration have them reaching out to the NYPD. The case is brushed aside until it reaches Jackson's squad. He personally takes on this case along with his partner, Joe Conrad. Time is not on their side on this one, but they won't give up. Will they find him alive or will this case become a murder investigation? This book is the second in The Burning Intensity Series. Fires Fever is the first.
