Zum grafisch modernisierten Notenbild kommen ein Vorwort sowie ein Kritischer Bericht auf dem aktuellen Stand der Forschung.Das Gloria ist vermutlich zwischen 1713 und 1717 für das Ospedale della Pietà entstanden, einem jener Waisenhäuser Venedigs, in denen junge Mädchen eine intensive musikalische Ausbildung erhielten. Das musikalisch repräsentative Werk in der Art einer sogenannten "Kantaten-Messe" gliedert sich in 12 Teile, die sich in Besetzung, Satzart, Tonart und Affektgehalt unterscheiden. Vivaldis Meisterschaft zeigt sich gleichermaßen in den feierlich-klangvollen Chorsätzen wie auch in den eher kammermusikalisch angelegten Solosätzen.

Concerto for Violin in F Minor, Op.8 No.4 / F.I:25 / P.442 / RV297

Composed sometime around 1716-17, Vivaldi's group of four violin concertos The Four Seasons were revolutionary in their use of musical effects to depict natural phenomena. Barking dogs, birds, bees, thunderstorms, frozen landscapes and much else finds musical expression in these ever popular concertos. This classic Edition Peters score of Spring (Concerto for Violin in E Major, Op.8 No.1 / F.I:22 / P.241 / RV269) contains an idiomatic piano accompaniment score and separate violin part.

By far the most famous of three known settings of the Gloria text by Vivaldi, this one most likely dates from early in the composer's tenure at the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice (ca.1715). It's also notable for the borrowing of the "Cum Sancto Spiritu" chorus in the setting by Vivaldi's fellow Venetian - Giovanni Maria Ruggieri. This newly engraved Full score from Richard W. Sargeant, Jr. is a vast improvement over many previous editions. Based on the most authoritative sources this corrected score is a must for choral enthusiasts.
