Fra universiteterne uddannes der psykologer som aldrig før, og opgaver og arbejdssteder for psykologer forskellige steder i samfundet er i vækst. Psykologi vokser således både som akademisk fag på universiteterne og som professionsfelt. Sommetider er universitetet og professionen i dynamisk samspil, og andre gange lever de hvert deres liv og bevæger sig i forskellige retninger.De fleste psykologer gives legitimitet i samfundet på baggrund af deres akademiske titel, og universitetsforankringen af psykologers virke fremhæves ofte som en kvalitetssikring af virket i forhold til psykoterapeuter på det såkaldte "grå marked". This book provides an overview of novel and significant research on emotional competences from psychological, clinical and pedagogical points of view. Emotional competences have emerged as one of the main factors of psychological functioning and development and of individual differences in this functioning and development.
