My mom always encouraged me to write a book. Before she went to heaven in 2019, I promised her that I would write one. Now, with this commentary on the book of James, I have completed my fourth book and have begun to work on my fifth. Lord willing, I will continue to write until my time on earth is finished. Dr. H. A. Ironside wrote regarding the biblical book of JAMES, "The theme of the Epistle of James is 'A Living Faith.' Paul deals justification before God, whereas James deals with justification before men, maintaining that righteous living and godly behavior accompany real faith.'" The book of James is a tremendous combination of he wisdom of Jesus Christ and the wisdom of Proverbs. James challenges us on how we should "live out" the great truths of God. Real life topics and issues are dealt with as they relate to God's Word. While our faith walk requires a great amount of growth of knowledge about the Bible, James encourages and exhorts us to not stop there. Accept his challenge today by beginning this vital study of this five-chapter book of God's Holy Word.
We''ve read or seen throughout history the remarkable stories of people being rescued from some form of captivity. By the means of bravery and courage of many have secured the liberty and freedom of those who have been enslaved. As men and women gave their life''s blood to free others in the liberation of Europe, Jesus gave His life''s blood to free all those who would call upon Him in saving faith. RESCUED relates many of these great stories and relates them to our Christian journey. Salvation is just the beginning of how God rescues us from kinds of captivity. RESCUED uses the wisdom and Word of God to liberate and free all those who seek Him for deliverance fear, addictions, defeat, discouragement, and other enslaving attitudes. What we once believed to be the "Inescapable," God turns all those feelings into the security of His "Inconceivable" provision and promise. Only God can take an insurmountable issue we''re experiencing, create a way of rescue for us, and thus take that insurmountable issue, making it an area that now seems so improbable. ONLY God can perfectly RESCUE us and set our feet on solid ground.

“The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” Psalm 92:12This is more than just a verse of Scripture. These words come from the mouth and heart of Almighty God and contain two great promises explained in two grand creation masterpieces: the palm tree and the great cedar of Lebanon. The growth of palms and cedars may not be rapid, but the picture of strength, endurance and resilience cannot be missed or lightly gone over. As we gaze on the palm standing tall and straight, even after a terrific storm battered it, we are to be quick to recognize the comparison the Lord is making in this single verse. And when we pause and reflect the mighty cedar, a tree that was used to bolster the structure of God’s Temple in Jerusalem, we have to take a long look at what our God is telling us in this key passage. The palm grows slowly, steadily, untouched by the many challenges and seasons that directly affect other trees. “The Flourishing Soul” focuses on the biblical fact that the righteous will flourish in all places. The palm does so in the valley, while the cedar thrives on the mountain. Both trees are evergreens, implying that the righteous will remain fruitful and useful even “in old age.” No matter what the righteous man may encounter, the palm and cedar teach us that flourishing will take place under all circumstances; the palm does so in drought and dreadful storms, while the cedar continues to thrive through harsh, winter storms and frost. Flourishing like the palm tree and growing as strong and tall as a cedar in Lebanon is God’s awesome destination for all His children! Throughout “The Flourishing Soul,” you’ll be taken on a journey of all the places God’s Word references the steady and sturdy palm tree. You’ll discover how our Christian life is reflected in those many passages and given practical guidelines to help you become that righteous person to flourish as the palm and grow as the cedar!
