This is our second year of creating a Christmas curriculum for our family and yours. This curriculum contains Bible readings and either a craft, backing, movie, or other family activity. The lessons were kept short. Each lesson begins with Bible readings that walk you through the life of Jesus, from conception to death. Each lesson has a craft or family activity. Some lessons will lead you to serve others and to share the Gospel message. This book contains 19 lessons to help your family understand the true meaning of Christmas! You will find no mention of Santa or any pagan traditions such as a Christmas tree. It is completely focused on the life of Jesus.
This is the first in a series of electives that will cover reading, the Bible, and basic life skills through the use of novels. Each of the books in this series will incorporate learning differently. Our world has stepped away from basic life skills being taught and has filled our lives with electronics for everything. While the use of them can be very useful, they can also be very damaging. This series will give you hands-on learning, as well as practical learning skills. These are designed to be used by the entire family! This unit will use the book by James B. Garfield, Follow My Leader. Follow My Leader is a book by James B. Garfield, about a boy, Jimmy Carter, who, during an after-school baseball game, is blinded when one of his friends, Mike Adams, is playing with a firecracker and, in a panic, accidentally throws it at Jimmy. Now having to learn to live with his disability, Jimmy learns how to use a white cane, to read and write Braille, and to work with a seeing-eye dog, whom he names Leader. From each chapter, lessons for Bible and basic life skills will be taught. Some of the Bible lessons include: Caring for animalsUsing time wiselyBeing lostWhy families homeschoolThe Lord is my fortressBeing organized and much more. Practical Skills: How to build a first aid kitHow to set and achieve goalsNew ways to communicateDoing firewoodApologizingCaring for animalsEmergenciesCookingHow to tell time without a watchCompass and map skills and more
If your child knows the letters and their sounds, they should start with the Learn to Read with God.If you want to teach your child to master reading with a developed phonics program that uses the methods of other popular brands, without the secular influence, this is for you. They will learn to master word families and learn about God and His awesome design. This is engaging and colorful. The workbook is 138 pages, and the reader is 15 pages. Just big enough to give them a feeling of accomplishment. This book is in full color.
