The project was based on the Berkeley, California Model. She received the Most Improved Award at the end of the project. Most people today turn to the Criminal Justice System for support in time of need. They expect the apprehension, prosecution, conviction and punishment of the "bad guys". Unfortunately, the system exists for society in general and not necessarily for the individual victim. Too often the guilt is not determined, or if it is, the punishment is not appropriate for the severity of the crime. What happens then you ask? Our system fails even though the police did their job, and the criminal is free to again do the deed. Society is then left wondering how to proceed. Devine intervention has worked in the past in some instances, but the "higher power", whatever your belief, can also become frustrated and simply tire of some people's ignorance and lack of morals. Typically, the affairs are left to be tended by the people, but if and when it gets out of hand, matters must be addressed. It is at this point the decision had to be made to let mankind act as if they were the right hand of the ultimate overseer. There would be a list made of people to be dealt with and two men would be chosen to carry out the specifics. These men would be known as "God's Hitmen".

Rose City Tales. The following collection of verse includes short stories that were inspired from my recollections with events, fables and yarns that cover my upbringing while living here in Portland, Oregon. It's my intent to remember the times that meant the most to me and pass them down to others to enjoy. These stories are dedicated in memory to those that shared their lives with me (directly or indirectly) and in memory to those that helped shape these foibles. I want to thank my friends and family in helping create these stories, for their inspiration and love.

My purpose in writing this book is to uplift and help them. Never Stop Learning is a collection of 21 stories that I originally wrote for my 10 grandchildren, as helpful guidance to assist them in navigating life more easily and successfully. Subsequently, I became convinced that if my stories could help my family, then they could help many other people. This book is the result. Each story's purpose is to teach lessons defining the keys to unlocking success, happiness, love, appreciation and respect. Who should read this book? Truthfully, the ones who could get the most benefit are 16-35-year-olds because they have the most time left, maybe the greatest need, plus they are going through the years where they are making many key decisions in rapid order about education, careers, jobs, and perhaps marriage and children. But I truly believe anyone from 8 to 100 would learn from the book's lessons. I state this because some of my reviewers in their 80's told me so. This I know. None of us will ever know everything about most anything. We still have plenty to learn. Personally, I am never going to stop trying to learn. Like me, others still have that hunger for knowledge and understanding. I hope more will join us in that pursuit. Never stop learning. You won't regret it.
