Just as the Thirteenth West Virginia Infantry Volunteers had played an integral part in the defeat and containment of Confederate partisans in the Kanawha Valley in 1862 and '63, keeping the grim-visaged scenes of bitter civil war from her neighbors in States to her north, so in the Shenandoah Valley Campaign of 1864, the Thirteenth rendered important service as part of the old Kanawha Division in the fierce fighting of that campaign which, it may be fairly said, decided the fate of the American Civil War itself. This volume presents their experiences marching and fighting in July 1864, in the Great Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where the military and political stakes were very high indeed.

I am not a pastor, and I am not a teacher. I am a poet, who was called by the Lord to write prose poetry about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I don't try to figure out life's ups and downs, and I don't try to analyze theories and make educated guesses because the Lord has called me to be a poet. I am a Christian poet who wants to give encouragement to broken people like me who need the Lord in their lives every day. I am not a philosopher, and I am not a theologian, I am only a poet called by the Lord to write prose poetry to help anyone to believe in Jesus Christ and be saved. The Lord called me to be one of His poets, not to try to figure out the heart that Jesus knows completely every day. I just don't know what kind of prose poem the Holy Spirit will inspire me to write to uplift Jesus' holy name.I am only a poet, not a prophet. My poems come from the Lord, who can move mountains of problems out of people's lives.

The scriptures reveal that God has set ministries and gifts in the Church. The ministries of the apostle and the prophet provided the foundation for the Church. However, their ministries alone could not advance the Church. Thus, God set other ministries within the Church; namely, the pastor and the teacher. These ministries are important for the equipping and maturing of the saints. In the pages of this book, we will discuss the ministries of the pastor and of the teacher in detail. A proper understanding of these ministries will help individuals recognize and appreciate their functionality in the Church. Under the Old Covenant, the priesthood belonged to Aaron and his sons. Since believers, by faith, are part of Christ's family line, they receive the ministry of the priesthood also. Under the Levitical system, there was one high priest among the priests. Christ was called a High Priest and not the only priest; thus, there has to be other priests that serve with Him. These other priests are those who have believed on Him. The believer receives kingship and priesthood through Jesus. To have a people of a royal priesthood has always been a part of God's plan for His people. It was His desire for the children of Israel, yet He developed this desire in the believers. Life is full of change, actually the only thing that is constant in life is change. Joseph Griffin experienced many ups and downs in his emotional, spiritual and physical life and wrote about them very transparently, realizing all of us on planet earth are very much the same. He was an avid reader of God's Word and actually read through the Bible five times during the past year. As he read, he began to realize God's hand in all of his own life and wanted the nuggets of truth found therein to be an inspiration, blessing and encouragement to others who may read.We all face storms...that's just "life," but the thread running through this entire book is captured in his very last writing, completed less than 15 hours before he went home to be with the Lord: "God's hand is stretched out still." In this publication, we will discuss relationships and the Christian teen. The area that we will consider is friendships. The Christian teen will discover how to have positive and wholesome friendships. They will learn strategies for dissolving bad friendships. The Christian youth will understand how to have fruitful, peaceful, and beneficial Friendships in his/her life.

The Bible is full of prayers. From his earliest existence, man used prayer as a primary mode of communication with God. Prayers were made for different reasons. Prayer is an essential component to the believer's walk with the Lord. Through prayer Christians communicate with God and receive strength. Therefore, a consistent prayer life is important. In this book, we will examine Asa's prayer for God's presence and strength. Asa's example in prayer should give us insight into the Art of Prayer. In 1861, passage of the secession ordnance at Richmond, the hatred and scorn of secessionists and the prospect of bitter civil war in their section compelled pro-Union people of the Northwestern Counties of Virginia to take up questions of sovereignty and national identity. Union people of the Northwestern Counties responded to Virginia's secession from the Union by seceding from Virginia. It was an audacious move, signaling that they took seriously the idea that Americans were entitled to freedom from tyranny and oppression; that they belonged to themselves and were not merely creatures of the government. With this volume begins the story of the Thirteenth Regiment West Virginia Infantry Volunteers, a set of men drawn from all walks of life who found common purpose and had tremendous grit and resilience-"the gamest set of fellows." They looked to themselves and time and again stood their ground with unflinching courage. These men sacrificed for their love of freedom and their country. God has always chosen to establish relationship with men through covenants. The covenants still provide valuable lessons for the Christian today. In this study, we will explore two foundational covenants to God's interaction with His creation. We will examine the Adamic and the Noahic Covenants. As we explore these two Covenants, we will see God's eternal purpose for the Christian today.

Christians are called to be disciples. Though we engage in religious services and ministries, the pursuit of discipleship must be the foundation for the Christian's life and service. In this study, we will examine three parables: the parables of the hidden treasure, the pearl of great price, and the unmerciful servant. As we learn from these parables, we will stay on the path to true discipleship.

This publication presents a solid introduction to the prophetic ministry. It will bring clarity and understanding to the prophetic office, the prophetic anointing, and the gift of prophecy. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ takes me to spiritual heights and spiritual depths in my praise poetry that gives Jesus all the glory and praise.We Christians must be all about loving Jesus and keeping His Commandments every day because time in this world is running out and God is about to close His grace on this world.We Christians don't have much time left to be sitting down and doing nothing for the Lord, who is coming back again to take us all to heaven for having faith in Him and winning Souls unto Him.Jesus has some work for you and me to do in His holy name. Each of us may have different work to do, but it's all for the same cause, which is to build up the church with people who will humble themselves before the Lord and confess and repent of their sins unto Jesus Christ.Jesus is the open gate for us to enter into heaven one day if we have some stars on our crowns for helping others to seek and find Jesus, who is all about saving lost souls.Whether it be in sermons, songs, Bible school lessons, or poetry, and most of all, living right by example, we are only spiritual pilgrims passing through this sinful, temporary world that will pass away one day.Every child of God will win the race that we run, no matter how fast we are running or how slow we are running, because we all will cross over the finish line for being saved in Jesus Christ.

BUT GOD, a book that I began writing over twenty-five years ago, highlights the trials and tribulations faced while going through one of the darkest and most challenging times in my life. I was facing prison as a newborn believer. This book shows how God was with me through it all, showing me my downfalls, selfish and demonic ways, thoughts, and the things that were not of Him. Things that were and would continue to hinder my walk with Him. While showing me myself, God was also using me to show compassion to others as they were going through their own wilderness situations. God used me to bring hope to others and to offer His gift of salvation. God showed Himself mighty and strong, the all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present God who truly works all things out for the good of those who love Him never left nor forsook me, being always faithful. God used what should have captured me, destroyed me, and turned me from Him, instead to set me free and draw me closer to Him. Who would have known these three months in the penal system would be the vehicle that changed my life for the better?...Who knew indeed...BUT GOD!

Jesus is the joy of my life, no matter what I go through in my life. What I go through in my life won't be more than what I can bear because Jesus made that promise to me. Jesus is living poetry to me every day when I read the Bible. It makes me feel so inspired by the Holy Spirit teaching me all the truth about Jesus. There is not a day that is too bad for me not to put my hope and trust in Jesus Christ, who has already brought me through many bad days. Jesus has proven to me that there is nothing that He can't do for me.I had once given up on living, but Jesus didn't give up on me. It comes to show that He has the last decision to make to override my last decision and your last decision. If Jesus says yes, it's a yes with no interruptions.Jesus is the joy of my life and I so enjoy writing praise poetry about giving Him all the glory and praise for all the good things in my life.

My praise poetry is all about giving my Lord Jesus Christ all the glory and praise that only He is forevermore worthy of. Praising the Lord is in heaven and on the earth and in all the other worlds throughout the universes. Every day, we should live our lives praising the Lord for all He is and for all that He does for us. We can never praise the Lord enough because the Lord Jesus Christ is so good to us all who He loves and wants to save from being lost in sin. if we don't praise the Lord, the birds will praise the Lord. if we don't praise the Lord, the animals will praise the Lord in their animalistic language. Praising the Lord is eternal for you and me to give the Lord all the praise for the spiritual gifts, talents and skills that He gives to us according to His will. On our good days, we should praise the Lord and on our bad days we should praise the Lord too. In our good health, we should praise the Lord and in our bad health we should praise the Lord, who will heal us if it is in His will. When praises go up, blessings come down from heaven. The Holy Spirit inspires me to write the truth in praise poetry and share it with the world so that they know that only Jesus Christ is worthy to be praised above all the angels and human beings. We can also be a living praise to the Lord every day with our body language and by living right by the Lord before the world. Being a living praise is our greatest praise to have favor with the Lord.
