The objective of this work is the development of a mobile application that aids patients take their proper medication dosages at the right time. The Department of Health estimates that about £300M of medicines (Triggle, 2011) get wasted each year in England as a result of patients not taking their medication properly.Computing technology has shown in recent times that its application can provide better services to the medical sector. The researcher aims to develop a mobile application - PillPod - which would remind patients to take their medication on time and also provide details of the medication to the patients. This software is to be developed for a firm - LornaLou Ltd - based in the UK.In addition, the researcher has chosen to investigate the most feasible development process applicable to this software development with the aim of proposing a better software development methodology which can be applied in the development of software systems exhibiting the characteristics of this software project.
This book systematically summarizes the great potential applications of graphene in the field of metal corrosion protection, graphene anticorrosion films, graphene/organic anticorrosion coatings, graphene/Inorganic anticorrosion coatings and graphene/polymer anticorrosion coatings. In spite to corrosion protection, graphene coatings have been applied as flame-retardant coatings, wear/scratch-resistant coatings, antifouling coatings, pollutant-adsorption coatings, and antiseptic coatings.
Biostimulants are products that increase plant growth, water resistance, and resistance to abiotic stresses while reducing the need for fertilizers. These substances are effective at low concentrations, promoting the good performance of the plant's vital processes and allowing for high yields and high-quality products. Regardless of nutrient content, biostimulants applied to plants improve nutrition efficiency, abiotic stress tolerance, and plant quality traits. Humic acid, hormones, algae extract, and plant growth promoting bacteria are among the raw materials used in biostimulants composition. Bio-fertilizers are microorganism-containing substances that, when added to soil, increase fertility and promote plant growth. They help to maintain soil fertility by releasing growth-promoting substances and vitamins. They act as antagonists, suppressing the occurrence of soil-borne plant pathogens and thus aiding in disease biocontrol. Bio-fertilizers with nitrogen fixing, phosphate mobilising and cellulolytic microorganisms increase the availability of plant nutrients in the soil, assisting in the production of sustainable agricultural and farming systems.
Elections have become the prerequisite of democratic governance in most countries. In pursuit of this democratic imperative, Ghana has conducted eight (8) successive elections since the inception of the Fourth Republic. In the quest to seek continuous improvement, the Election Management Body of Ghana has over the years implemented various policies to give citizens the right to vote to choose leaders. However, notwithstanding the relentless effort to improve the electoral process, the incidence of rejected ballots poses risk to the democratic value of elections. The quantum of rejected ballots sometimes is enough to push the elections into a runoff. Apart from the financial and economic costs to the nation, runoff elections birthed by rejected ballots create tensions and anxiety with the tendency to threaten the peace and security of countries. Consequently, the main causes and effects of rejected ballots on the democratic value of elections have eluded the voting public. This study aims to evince the possible cause of rejected ballots and narrow the knowledge gap of its impact on Ghana's democracy by adopting descriptive analysis to assess the democratic peril of high incidence.
The approach used in the study is to describe the formation of integral elements of language from the lowest to the highest through a progressive movement forward with increasing levels of organization. Its rationale lies in confirming that the content of the discourse is fairly well developed, concerns the presence of a vague idea of the formation of language as a system and summarizes the speculative nature of the philosophical interpretation of the emergence of speech. The structure of the work, or its synopsis, is, firstly, a description of the starting points of the origin of mental and cognitive activity, secondly, the communicative development and formation of speech, thirdly, the discursive content of linguistic categories. The pedagogy of the study is based on the replacement of abstraction with speech embodiment, which reveals the patterns of acquisition of knowledge, skills, abilities and the formation of beliefs.
Stroke has a significant socioeconomic impact on the world. Ischemic strokes arise when a blood clot (also known as "thrombi") or a fatty plaque (made up of fat residue, cholesterol, and waste particles) blocks the blood supply to a part of the brain, killing the neurons in that area (brain cells). The majority of stroke patients will survive the first sickness, the long-term implications for individuals generally have the largest impact on their health and may also lead to larger numbers of death. So, the prior detection of stroke is necessary to prevent the condition. A cloud-based Stroke prediction system has been presented to identify Stroke using a Machine learning approach in order to diagnose it at an early stage. The intention of the design is to use the convolution neural network (CNN) algorithm to design an automated early ischemic stroke disclosure system. The major goal of using CNN is to accurately detect a stroke and alert the doctor or career as soon as possible.
The author has developed a stress form of Richard's equation. Four newborn abiotic stress parameters, symbolized as SSI, β, bz, and bt, were identified, discussed, and nominated as Hegazy Abiotic Stress Parameters (HASP). The term bz is responsible for shaping the curvature of SSI in the root domain and causing the gradual response which enhances plant survival throughout alternatated wetting and drying cycles. The term bt plays a vital role in determining the moisture regime for deficit irrigation scenarios, without a tangible reduction in crop yield. Lastly, SSI or β dictate the type and amount of uptake in accordance to stress or stress, strain, and weather-induced forces, respectively.
The culture of a people has been the guiding principle in most African societies for time immemorial. As a total way of life, it has moderated the activities of respective societies in all human endeavors. Culture defines individual identity as a member of an ethnic group, it has been the panacea with which prestige, honesty and integrity was obtained. It has knitted societies together in a manner that the observance of law and order was paramount, respect to elders and constituted authorities along traditional lines was supreme. It has molded the human mind to fear not only local cult systems, but the Devine Being with utmost sanctity. The 21st century marked a turning point in the African belief systems as a result of the high regard youths accorded to modernization. The result of this was the flagrant abuse on African deterrent systems. Heightened by the incursion of modern religions and the Information and Communication Technology, the African youth is on collision course with their heritage.

Throughout history, Black women have been considered as the objectified other to be manipulated and controlled. As objects, their existence has been defined, created, and represented by more powerful individuals. Black women's narratives, however, came as a response to the bigoted representations of Black womanhood and focus on the necessity of Black women's struggle to challenge and overthrow racial and patriarchal injustices in order to generate a self-assertive identity. Through analyzing selected novels written by African-American women writers, this book explores Black women's desire to contrive stout identities despite the intersectional obstructions. It explains the way these women writers highlight the female protagonists' persistent efforts to defy the domineering patriarchal and racial forces, and conceive various innovative means to pursue self-fulfilment. Because these writers focus on underscoring Black women's unique experience, their works become part of a revolutionary agenda that considers Black female women's identity as a rhizomatic rather than an arborescent entity.
Emu is native to Australia, and also its national bird. Australian aborigines used to raise emus for food, shelter and clothing for centuries. Considered to be a menace once upon time to the agricultural farmers, emu is now emerging as a potential multi-million dollar industry in the world (Geo, 1993).It is expanding at a rapid rate in several countries including India. The birds are totally useable and its products include meat, oil, skin, feathers, nails and egg shells. A huge demand in international market exists for all these products. Despite this tremendous potential, very little is known about its scientific management, production performance and welfare. The goal of any drug delivery system is to administer a therapeutic amount of a drug to the appropriate site in the body and achieve as well as maintain the desired plasma concentration for a specific duration. However, challenges such as incomplete drug release, shorter residence times of dosage forms in the upper gastrointestinal tract, and significant first-pass metabolism contribute to lower oral bioavailability. Parenteral drug delivery offers rapid attainment of therapeutically effective drug levels, but it comes with the drawback of a rapid decline in systemic drug levels or potential hazards associated with intravenous infusion, requiring close medical supervision, especially during hospitalization. These limitations inherent in conventional dosage forms have paved the way for an era of controlled and novel drug delivery systems. Specifically designed to release drugs at predetermined rates over predefined periods, controlled drug delivery systems aim to address the shortcomings of traditional drug formulations.Within the realm of microparticulate systems, microspheres hold special importance due to their ability to target drugs and provide controlled release.
