In this continuation of the Morning After series, it has been a year since the world became infected by the deadly virus that killed and reanimated 90 percent of the human population. We find that Jacob, Jennifer, and the rest of our survivors have reached the outpost of California, as the war against the dead continues. Jacob and the alliance, a coalition of alien worlds, assist the human survivors in the fight to eradicate the dead. While returning from a mission, Jacob, with the remnants of the human military, discovers a sinister plot set against the alliance and the people of Earth. An ancient rival, which thought destroyed a million years ago, has surfaced on Earth, placing the remaining population and all worlds within the alliance in jeopardy. Now Jacob and his soldiers must act before what has befallen Earth is repeated throughout the galaxy.
These poems are about trees--mostly American trees. But they are really about something more and can speak for themselves. They describe connections people have with trees and how trees make people feel. A tree can spur a personal memory or an emotion that can be placed on a continuum of space and time where journeys of mind and heart often take place. These thoughts and feelings are journeys of spirit.
The United States puts more people behind bars every year than any other nation, but what they experience inside our jails and prisons is almost entirely hidden from the view of the public. It's our country's dirty little secret. Randy Lancaster spent most of his adult life behind bars for crimes committed as a "steal worker," and this is the story of what he saw and experienced during his time inside US prisons. A powerful indictment of the US in-justice system and its long-standing corruption by money and power and also a cautionary tale about how to avoid becoming a victim of that brutal and dehumanizing system.

My Life in a Nutshell is about moments and conversations between me and God. It was when I was at my lowest when God started to reveal himself to me, showing and telling me things that I needed.I had some rough things happen in my life, but I never let it turn me into a victim. It made me into the strong woman I am today.I also have quotes from my late mother, Sheila A. Porter, who passed October 30, 2015.She left me with some good words to turn back to when I needed them, and I pray they help you too.My Life in a Nutshell is real and full of life-changing events that many won't talk about, and so when you read it, I pray it gives you strength and power to tell your story and that you learn to lean on God in times of trouble.
The purpose of this book is to let the people--mostly the young people of today, who think they're living in hard times and that everything around them is so brutal and savage and of so much despair, though many think that way because of to the constant negative ambush they receive today from the media, schools, newspapers, and through many elites in our society who are taught that everything around them is going to hell in a handbasket--know that this is the best time in the world to be alive. Most people are safer, better educated, and living around modern high-tech advances that make their lives easier. People have more wealth and leisure time than ever before. They are healthier and tend to live longer than ever before. The world is also more acceptable among the races and religions of the world, and this generation has the chance to live in everlasting peace without no World Wars, though there will always be conflicts among people and nations, and it will never be perfect. This generation today must know that the world was a pretty savage doggy world throughout history, climaxed by World War II though savage wars did continue after World War II. They must also be taught that the perpetrators of the savagery were all people, races, and religions, not just some. For today's media want to use that narrative, and the victims of the savagery were also from all people, races, and religions. We all know that slavery is wrong in America, but it ended over 160 years ago. Why not also talk about slavery before American slavery, like the slavery in Africa? And why not talk right now about slavery that's been going on right now in China, in North Africa by Isis, and in Libya? Because it doesn't get the media's narrative on who is good and who is bad. And one more thing about the media, how about talking about some of the good things that America has done throughout its history instead of bashing America all the time? For example, if America were to be wiped out by a tidal wave, the rest of the world would be in warfare because there will be no America to secure peace.
An average guy lucks into a fortune but has a price to pay to receive it. Though his path isn't paved in gold, it certainly could be. But there are twists and turns unraveling and a lot of sacrifices to get it. In the end, the money is not the enrichment but the people he has changed. This book examines one's devotion to family and friends and how it should not be compromised for prosperity.
Proverbs 12:10 "The righteous regards the care of his animals" so shall it be in Heaven.Believing Christians have the authority to call themselves saints. Also, un-aware are angels on Earth among us.Wishing to have the given authority from God to claim myself as one unaware angel instead of Saint on Earth.I could do things needed invisible, unseen and still proclaim the Gospel told!If given the opportunity to live a little longer allowing me to acknowledging the miracles in life and to cover the shadows of any doubt! May God's grace and mercy serve your direction with God's Providential Love and Care.
One Believer's Thoughts is a short book about God, or rather one believer's thinking about God. It concerns the God who is both the infinite, all-powerful Creator of the universe and the God who is kind, forgiving, helpful, and present to us right here. He is a father, our Father. There are a number of short reflections in nontechnical language, leaving readers to reflect on topics and questions using their own experience. Also, there is a longer reflection on retirement that considers God's continuing call to those who have moved on from their structured work lives. The book is written for ordinary people whose real lives are often complicated and situated in an equally complicated world.Dennis Sullivan is from the Judeo-Christian tradition, a Roman Catholic, but the thoughts are for all.
Alfred, an autistic man with genius-level mental abilities, wants revenge because he was treated cruelly back in high school. Now eight years later, he has developed an almost-perfect way to take his revenge against his six worst former tormentors. His device allows him to hijack and transport their minds to a nonexistent room and establish total control over everything they experience.Through a series of vicious torture routines, Alfred manipulates everything they feel, taste, smell, see, and hear to produce the most pain and terror they can possibly withstand. He even makes them continuously reexperience their worst memories and makes them feel as though they have been abandoned in the ether, with no sensory input at all and no hope of rescue. His punishment brings all of them to their breaking points. Then in a totally unexpected (at least for them) action, he reveals his true purpose for abducting their consciousness and offers to recruit them all to help him fulfill a mission, a mission which is extremely important to him, personally.Alfred forms them into a seven-member team, including himself, which is financed by royalties from some of his inventions. As they begin to accomplish some of the team's goals, they encounter one malevolent menace who becomes a threat to the existence of the team and all of its members. In the conflict that ensues, every team member is forced to rely on the training they have received and their wits to survive.
This is one woman's story of overcoming her life's struggles of spiritual and emotional hardships while discovering God is not in her circumstances, but rather, His strength is her only hope of getting through them.
Jenna wanted to make a change in life after the passing of her mother, brother, and grandmother, a life change that would take her four hours away from the town she grew up in, away from her best friend, and away from all her family's memories. It was a chance to start over, where no one knew her story, where she could start a new life in her grandmother's farmhouse, along with money that will last her more than a lifetime, not that money meant anything to her. She'd give it all back to have her family with her. That, however, wasn't life's plan. When Jenna was involved in a hit-and-run accident, she found herself in the hospital. There she met Maria, who reminded her that love didn't always come from blood; Jacob, who showed her that he would protect her no matter what; and Aaron, who showed her it was okay to take a chance on love. It took someone else though to teach her to make the tough choices, to listen to her heart no matter where it took her which, in the end, made her question who truly and completely had her heart.Jenna brought a special light to this new town. Her big heart was felt by so many. However, with the good came the bad. Someone was set out to hurt Jenna. Catching him before it happened brought Jenna closer to the people she started to love, the people she soon considered her family.
I, William A. Hagwood, a veteran of US army, from December 5, 1976, to December 7, 1982, two days AWOL, wrote these truths because I am compelled to do so. I am not a war veteran, but this is my war that I have been in a fight with for over thirty years in dreams and nightmares. At a substance abuse group class at the VA hospital in Tampa, Florida, conducted by a counselor named David Smith, I told this story: The Devil Had a Son: The 13th Step.I was told to stop telling the story. This is beyond belief and too gross for the class to hear or receive by David Smith. And his analysis of me and the way that I thought was irrational and that I was out of my mind.I took a number of tests at the VA hospital to see where my mental stability and if I was stable in my thinking and mind. It was said that there was nothing wrong with my mental stability and to stay in school.Today and tomorrow along with yesterday, school is in session because I ended up knowing what I was fighting against physically but not spiritually. So for myself to be set free with an excellent spirit, I tell this truth for myself. The Bible's heroes are made to walk across the stage of life again to further lessons and in a spiritual example for all believers and for myself to know that I've learned my lesson well.I Know that it's hard to believe things that aren't seen because of the lack of belief in things not seen in the natural. But remember this life lesson that I leave you with, the four-score judgment that I live for today and the abandonment from God, which causes the abandonment from every good thing in life mentally and physically and with our loved ones also. Imprisonment can also open your eyes to save yourself. Then at the end, there is death. Then the four-score judgment belongs to the beast.

Behind a Smile is my story of survival. It is the candid and graphic account of my life; its past, scarred by abuse and neglect, bad choices and near disasters; and its present, with the heartbreaking pain of loss and grief and the devastating resurrection of an old evil.As a small child, I always felt the presence of God in my life, protecting and guiding me in the midst of my darkness, my valley of the shadow. I was born into a legacy of fear passed down through generations of abuse to my father, who succumbed to that fear, which grew into cruelty.Even as a child, I had hope--the hope for eternity--and a closeness to God that was simply a fact. I always just knew He was present in my life, and I carried that hope with me as I grew.He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)Ever present in my life, always saving me from the worst.Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)My story, who I was, and who I am becoming, who God is creating me to be, is meant to shed light on how He strengthens us in the midst of our tragedies so that we can grow and feel His love for us.See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. (Isaiah 48:10)Behind every smile is a story.
The warfare was intense. My husband's darkness was so hateful and overwhelming. The evil in my heart was toxic too. I was angry and filled with hate because he came after me. The countless deadly attacks were like an out-of-body experience in a spiraling orbit. Do not be dismayed. Darkness brings blessings from God. He honors marriage. You cannot see God's plan for your marriage unless you wait on God. He will show you what He has for you, if you faint not!
In the midst of chaos, conflict, and confusion, the world was taken by storm in the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement, and in spite of it all, Shirra was determined to move the snow and put her name at the very top. Shirra and her goons J'money and Zo refused to stop at nothing. While on her way to the top, with a mob-tied family on the other side of the wall, she and her king, D'mack, were reigning upon the naysayers with their empire and paying homage to the lost but never forgotten people who died at the hands of evil. Shirra was from the streets of Montgomery, Alabama, and most seem to think and feel that Alabama wasn't speaking volumes and took the South as a joke. Who was laughing now? I know, right?Come and take a real look at the dirty, dirty South, and try to keep your hands clean in the game of life and ambitions where a biracial vixen makes the South her playground. Who's trying to gamble in this dirty game?
If a majority of people were to be asked what a narcissist is, most would not describe it correctly. There are many different types of narcissism and many different degrees of this disorder.Covert narcissism, or a co narc, is a type of narcissism that, as the name implies, is hidden or not seen. And because of its stealthy traits, it can be very dangerous and damaging to those who interact or become romantically involved with a person suffering with this disease. It is a condition, unfortunately, that is misunderstood many times or not realized until it is too late; and the number of people suffering from this are on the rise. Many of the victims or receivers of the abuse do not even know they are being abused, nor have any idea how to deal or protect themselves from this condition. The feelings of uncertainty and confusion often will result in a victim or receiver of this abuse not only undergoing much pain and suffering but the victim will also often become a person they do not want to be.In this book, I will identify the different stages of covert narcissism, what each stage means, and why a discard is not only part of the plan from the beginning of the relationship but is inevitable. I will name and explain different characteristics and actions of the co narc and when the co narc will apply these. No matter what the victim did or said, dealing with a co narc was a near impossible task and in no way was the discard the fault of the victim. The victim is not alone nor uncommon. There are many who have suffered from the hands of the co narc. These victims now understand the pain and suffering and now speak and understand a unique language. Now, the victim can heal and most importantly identify avoiding further misery.
Are you wondering, like many others, how this world will end?The mysteries in the Bible book of Revelation are God's way of revealing what will take place as our world waxes old like a garment and tears apart. These mysteries are uncovered by God Himself. He has painted a picture in symbols so we can understand and live through the end of time in faith and trust that God will take care of His people.
Inconceivable, not pronounced with a lithp "in-con-theeve-able" as in The Princess Bride (nor does it have to do with the immaculate conception), but a story of a man who dared to dream an impossible dream and experience a power beyond his own to see that dream fulfilled. A poignant story of one man's determination, struggles, and triumphs in following God's vision and purpose for his life. It's one of courage in uprooting his family and moving to the Land Down Under. There was a guarantee of financial support and commitment for two years. At the end of the second year, the vision was beginning to flourish with astonishing growth, at which time David and his wife, Marianna, said, "We can't leave now. The baby will die." They agreed to stay just one more year.Follow the unfolding journey and discover why it took him not just one more year but almost thirty years to leave. David taught generations of students about the richness of the Scriptures, the building of Christian character, stick-to-it-iv-ness, and achieving excellence in life by demanding nothing less than the best from his students. Christian artists need to try harder, be the best they can be, never accept mediocrity or being average, but always work to advance and aspire to excellence. If what we do is to bring delight to the heart of God, who is most excellent, then what we offer Him must also be excellent. Wesley Institute only exists because God gifted David, captivated his heart, and gave him a vision so big it would take the rest of his life to fulfill.
Every day at school, Bentley and his friends had to deal with something most of us have either heard about or encountered at some point in our lives. Bentley and his friends had to deal with the insults and abuse of a bully. In case some of you are wondering what a bully is, let us accept as a general description that a bully is the opposite of a considerate and caring person. A bully is a person who intimidates other people deliberately by tormenting and teasing them with hurtful words along with actions that are physical and uncomfortable and who tends to lower people's self-esteem through use of negative, unwanted, and cruel behavior. This is the story of Bentley and his friends and how they dealt with a campus bully, one that made their school days miserable and very unbearable. Perhaps their story can help you and others learn how to deal with bullying. Additionally, bullying is something that the author feels very passionate about. It is hoped that Bentley's story will help bring an awareness to the very real problem of bullying in our world and its effect on thousands of young people every day. The young people in this story and in the world are just trying to grow into productive adults that will achieve and do great things.

In the preface Doctor John tells us, "The subject of this book is the Goth-industrial scene centered primarily around New York City from its heyday in 1990 to its COVID-driven pause in 2020...It takes in what the author deems to be the broad historical and cultural milieu that nourished a specific social and aesthetic group of people: the Goths of Greater NYC and the institutions that served them-their roots, their common interests, their shared experience, and their uniqueness as a subculture."

They purchased land north of the Grizzlies Eye Mountain and south of the Grizzlies Back Falls with money they inherited, and turned a rundown old barn found hidden among tall brush, weeds and trees into a home. With a handful of good stock beef cattle and four horses. The land became known as Shimmering Meadow Ranch where Joe and Abigail started a family. Life flies by quickly when dreams are fulfilled and life is going just the way they planned, or so they thought.

This book is a combination of thoughts and feelings that have been placed on paper in different forms and on a couple of pages by other individuals, veterans that have written a feeling and posted it online from short stories to different forms of attempts at poetry, including attempts at writing the Japanese Haiku style of poetry.I have covered a wide range of subjects from military days to family, depths of depression, the world, and nature. It is an attempt to reach inside and bring forward the ideas that make me happy, sad, depressed, and angry. In these writings, I am able to express myself without opening the old wounds that will always be there. The writing of these stories does not make the memories or pain go away. It helps to deal with and handle my feelings better, with less anger and pain. The stories and poems are my attempt to explain the feelings that are buried deep inside. By bringing them to light, I am freeing my soul while explaining my mind. It is also my attempt to provide an outreach for others to try by digging into their own mind and giving them the peace of releasing their inner feelings without hurting themselves or others, even to just keep a small journal of their feelings and a diary that is theirs's, filled with stories, poems, or even jokes.
