What''s a face-saving response when a principal comments on a spider a young boy is carefully drawing only to be informed that his artwork actually depicts Jesus on the cross? There may not be one, but in Simply Sacred there is a faith-saving option: to alter one''s perspective to see that ordinary days almost always hold sacred moments if we just take the time to look.
Leah Grey was still in her twenties when her life fell apart. She couldn''t decide what was more depressing-the state of her marriage, or the fact that she lived in Jersey City instead of Manhattan.

Until meeting her husband, she''d lived the most cliché life. She''d come from a small town in Canada that smelled like fish or manure, depending on the season. She''d fallen in love with the boy down the road, and she had a dog. Her life had been unbearably predictable-until one snowy New Year''s Eve, a tall, dark, and handsome stranger from New York City walked into her life.

Her debut book, No One Brings You a Casserole When Your Husband Goes to Rehab, is a poignant coming-of-age story about curly-haired boys and the dark side of having your dreams come true. From poufy dresses and a whirlwind romance to considering when it was time to jump into the Hudson River, Leah candidly tells of her personal transformation through her husband''s struggle with addiction. Her story offers hope to every girl who has felt like she needed to run away from her dreams because they didn''t come true.

Whenever we today in this 21st Century read about heaven and earth in the Scriptures we need to be careful as to exactly what is being referred to. And here are some reasons as to why this must be. 1. The original Bible was not written in our modern English, which is a far different language than Hebrew and Greek the original languages of the Holy Scriptures. Hence the reason for us to become avid students of the Word of God. 2. We, living today are not the original recipients of Scripture and as such we need to understand what the original recipients understood when they first received that Word. 3. We must be willing to let the Bible interpret itself and not hang on to our theories for the Scriptures. 4. That the Bible speaks of at least four Heavens and three earths. And as such we need to dig deep into the Word of God and find them and apply this understanding in our study. Remember what the Scriptures say in Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal the word, and the glory of kings to search out the speech. With that said let us now take a deeper dive and journey into the Word of God with the intention of extracting much needed revelation concerning these Heavens and Earths.
Penelope feels like she is being left behind. While most of her graduating class is pursuing college and university degrees, Penelope spends her days waitressing or cleaning up at the hair salon. She longs for more than life in small-town Hartford and finds inspiration in the random purchase of a short story at the local bookshop. As she becomes a participant in the journey of the unlikely hero, she wonders if she is strong enough to overcome the obstacles in her own path and make her dreams come true.
Soon after the WHO declared a global pandemic in the spring of 2020, an Educational Assistant at Avondale Elementary recognized the significance of recording history. Her heart hurt, and she empathized with the fear and uncertainty, hardships and struggles many would face. She invited her coworkers to participate in a personal and school journaling project. A sensitive, creative heart enabled her to access and express her school family's vulnerabilities and successes, as well as her own. Together they relied on an age-old truth: "Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble." (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, NLT). Every Story Starts with Small Steps: Avondale COVID-19 Journal is a vulnerable, heartwarming, and sometimes heartbreaking glimpse into the experiences of a school community during the COVID-19 global pandemic. Karen weaves the stories seamlessly together, telling them with grace and compassion. Everyone who reads it will be able to relate to something in this book and will feel more connected and validated in their own experiences.-Kristina Black, Principal of Avondale School Thank you, Karen, for reminding me how incredible humanity is.-Rene SonnenbergNational Team CoachCurling Canada

What began as an epic love story between two people transforms into the truest love story of them all. From Judaism to Jesus is the captivating love story of how a young Jewish girl went from constantly seeking to fill the emptiness inside her to finding her true fulfillment and purpose in Jesus Christ. It's also a story of darkness and light, hope, and persistence. Most importantly, this book presents surefire evidence that our God is a God of miracles. Although these are the sorts of stories some people try to hide, Simone believes that God has called her to do a great work by sharing her story with the world, to be vulnerable and raw in talking about her decision to go against her blood religion, her family, and her whole life to share the testimony of how God saved her life.

The stories in this book illustrate the dynamic indigenous partners of Engage Today who have established missions to reach their own people with the Gospel. These leaders are committed to church planting and evangelism among the unreached, and are examples of humbly serving with Biblical childlike faith. The vision of Engage Today is to build mutually beneficial relationships between Canadian churches and faithful indigenous missions so that they are mobilized to bring the gospel to the remaining unreached peoples, and so that the Canadian Church finds a renewed passion and vision for mission. Over two billion people have not yet heard the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Engage Today was established in order that Christ be proclaimed to the remaining unreached. Engage Today currently links Canadians with twenty indigenous mission leaders who oversee over 850 local staff in five countries-India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, and Indonesia. Their ministries are steadily bearing fruit through disciple-making, and these missions have planted thousands of churches. www.engage.today
