Bag om From Bush-Bunny to Horse-Cop
Dave Hart was born in LaSalle in southern Ontario in 1935 and moved to the lake country of northern Ontario when he was 10 years old. He was a guide at his parents new tourist lodge and was educated through correspondence courses. He did three years of high school at a boarding school then worked for a mine developing company as a prospector. After a couple of other short term jobs he was accepted into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and served for almost 21 years on small detachments in the arctic, Alberta and
British Columbia.
He spent two years in the Federal Public Service as Personnel Officer, but found it too boring and went into the general labour force as a welder, lumber grader, sawyer and grader operator. He was hired by the Village of Masset as foreman of Public Works and in six years moved to the Superintendant's position. Six years later, after the death of his second wife he retired and moved to Sundre, Alberta where he presently lives.
