Whatever it takes.

Her ønskede direktør Henrik Stenmann at øge arbejdsglæden og minimere arbejdstiden, uden at det gik ud over indtjeningen. Kort sagt: Han ville gøre sine medarbejdere lykkelige.

• Burn the Business Plan af Carl J. Schramm Spar 18%
    - What Great Entrepreneurs Really Do
    af Carl J. Schramm

The evangelist of entrepreneurship (The Economist) reveals the true stories about how a range of entrepreneurs created their successful start-ups: hint, many of them never began with a business plan.Business schools teach that the most important prerequisite for starting a business is a business plan. Nonsense, says Carl Schramm in Burn the Business Plan, who for a decade headed the most important foundation devoted to entrepreneurship in this country. Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, and Google are just a few of the companies that began without one.Schramm explains that the importance of a business plan is only one of the many misconceptions about starting a company. Another is the myth of the kid geniusthat all entrepreneurs are young software prodigies. In fact, the average entrepreneur is thirty-nine years old and has worked in corporate America for at least a decade. Schramm discusses why people with work experience in corporate America have an advantage as entrepreneurs. For one thing, they often have important contacts in the business world who may be customers for their new service or product. For another, they often have the opportunity to strategize with knowledgeable people and get valuable advice.Burn the Business Plan tells stories of successful entrepreneurs in a variety of fields. It shows how knowledge, passion, determination, and a willingness to experiment and innovate are vastly more important than financial skill. This is an important, motivating look at true success that dispels the myths and offers invaluable real-world advice on how to achieve your dreams.

  • Lost and Founder af Rand Fishkin Spar 19%
    - A Painfully Honest Field Guide to the Startup World
    af Rand Fishkin

Rand Fishkin, the founder and former CEO of Moz, reveals how traditional Silicon Valley "e;wisdom"e; leads far too many startups astray, with the transparency and humor that his hundreds of thousands of blog readers have come to love.Everyone knows how a startup story is supposed to go: A young, brilliant entrepreneur has a cool idea, drops out of college, defies the doubters, overcomes all odds, makes billions, and becomes the envy of the technology world. This is not that story. It's not that things went badly for Rand Fishkin; they just weren't quite so Zuckerberg-esque. His company, Moz, maker of marketing software, is now a $45 million/year business, and he's one of the world's leading experts on SEO. But his business and reputation took fifteen years to grow, and his startup began not in a Harvard dorm room but as a mother-and-son family business that fell deeply into debt. Now Fishkin pulls back the curtain on tech startup mythology, exposing the ups and downs of startup life that most CEOs would rather keep secret. For instance: A minimally viable product can be destructive if you launch at the wrong moment. Growth hacking may be the buzzword du jour, but initiatives can fizzle quickly. Revenue and growth won't protect you from layoffs. And venture capital always comes with strings attached. Fishkin's hard-won lessons are applicable to any kind of business environment. Up or down the chain of command, at both early stage startups and mature companies, whether your trajectory is riding high or down in the dumps: this book can help solve your problems, and make you feel less alone for having them.

In The Startup Way, Ries shares his insights, lessons, stories, challenges and best practices from his intense collaborations with some of the world's most innovative and successful companies, as they attempt to change their culture and processes to be faster and smarter at what they do. At GE, Ries's ideas are codified under the name FastWorks; each company adapts his basic framework and ideas in their own way, to fit their particular organization and industry, as Ries discusses in the book. For every company that recognizes it needs to embrace agility, change and do so quickly if it is to survive and thrive, The Startup Way is an absolutely critical guide and toolkit.

In a riveting, hilarious account, reporter Alexandra Wolfe exposes a world that is not flat but bubblingthe men and women of Silicon Valley, whose hubris and ambition are changing the world. Each year, young people from around the world go to Silicon Valley to hatch an idea, start a company, strike it rich, and become powerful and famous. In The Valley of the Gods, Wolfe follows three of these upstarts who have stopped out of college and real life to live and work in Silicon Valley in the hopes of becoming the next Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk. No one has yet documented the battle for the brightest kids, kids whose goals are no less than making billions of dollarsand the fight they wage in turn to make it there. They embody an American cultural transformation: A move away from the East Coast hierarchy of Ivy Leagues and country clubs toward the startup life and a new social order. Meet the billionaires who go to training clubs for thirty-minute body slams designed to fit in with the start-up schedule; attend parties where people devour peanut butter-and-jelly sushi rolls; and date and seduce in a romantic culture in which thick glasses, baggy jeans, and a t-shirt is the costume of any sex symbol (and where a jacket and tie symbolize mediocrity). Through Wolfes eyes, we discover how they date and marry, how they dress and live, how they plot and dream, and how they have created a business world and an economic order that has made us all devotees of them. A blistering, brilliant, and hysterical examination of this new ruling class, The Valley of the Gods presents tomorrows strange new normal where the only outward signs of tech success are laptops and ideas.

    - China's Greatest Emperor and His Timeless Secrets of Success
    af Chinghua Tang

In the classic tradition of Sun Tzus The Art of War, here for the first time in English is the timeless wisdom of Chinas greatest emperor Tang Taizong (598-649 AD) which will show anyone who leads or manages how to achieve unparalleled results and an enduring legacy.Tang Taizong was arguably the greatest Emperor in Chinese history. In Asia, many historians rank him with such rulers as Augustus, Genghis Khan, and Napoleon. When he founded the Tang dynasty, Taizong was only twenty-eight years old, and his chief accomplishments were on the battlefield, where he personally slew 1,000 of the enemy. Ultimately, Taizong would defeat the descendants of Genghis Khans Huns, enact a vastly simplified code of laws, open up the Silk Road trading route, create a golden age of cosmopolitan culture, and by his attitudes on religious tolerance introduce Buddhism into Tibet and invite Catholicism into China. His dynasty would last 300 years. The Rulers Guide is the first publication in English of the leadership principles modeled and articulated by this unusual ruler, who populated his court with advisors who were required to criticize him on a daily basis. Taizongs dialogues with the wisest of his counselors form the core of this book, which is a manual for managing in any sphere, whether it be government, business, the military, athletics, philanthropy, or even parenting. Here, author Chinghua Tang presents conversations between Taizong and his advisers that explain how to attain self-knowledge; evaluate people and appraise talent; lead effectively; grow power and influence; compete with rivals; listen to others with different views; treat subordinates; enhance organizational effectiveness; practice the art of war; achieve long-term success; draw lessons from the rise and fall of great empires; and craft ones legacy.

    - Why Rustbelts Are the Emerging Hotspots of Global Innovation
af Antoine van Agtmael & Fred Bakker

Antoine van Agtmael coined the term emerging markets and built a career and a multibillion-dollar investing firm centered on these surging economies that would, over time, supplant the West as engines of wealth and prosperity. The trend held for decades, but a few years ago van Agtmael and Alfred Bakker, a renowned European journalist, began seeing signs that the tide might be turning. For example, during a visit to an enormously successful chip company in Taiwan, the company's leaders told them that their American competitors were now eating their lunch. And Taiwan was not the only place giving them this message. Thus began a remarkable two-year journey to reassess the conventional wisdom that the US and Europe are yesterday's story and to determine whether there is something profound that is happening that points the way to the creation of the next economy. In The Smartest Places on Earth, van Agtmael and Bakker present a truly hopeful and inspiring investigation into the emerging sources of a new era of competitiveness for America and Europe that are coming from unlikely placesthose cities and areas once known as "e;rustbelts"e; that have, from an economic perspective, been written off. Take, Akron, Ohio, whose economy for decades was dependent on industries such as tire manufacturing, a product now made cheaply elsewhere. In Akron and other such communities, a combination of forcesincluding visionary thinkers, government initiatives, start-ups making real products, and even big corporationshave succeeded in creating what van Agtmael and Bakker call a "e;brainbelt."e; These "e;brainbelts"e; depend on a collaborative style of working that is unique to the societies and culture of America and Europe, since they involve levels of trust and freedom of thinking that can't be replicated elsewhere. They are producing products and technologies transforming industries such as vehicles and transportation, farming and food production, medical devices and health-care.For several decades American and European industry focused on cost by outsourcing production to those emerging markets that can make things cheaper. The tide has now turned, as van Agtmael and Bakker report, to being smart, and the next emerging market, may, in fact, be the West.

    af Eric von Hippel

In this book, Eric von Hippel, author of the influential Democratizing Innovation, integrates new theory and research findings into the framework of a "e;free innovation paradigm."e; Free innovation, as he defines it, involves innovations developed by consumers who are self-rewarded for their efforts, and who give their designs away "e;for free."e; It is an inherently simple grassroots innovation process, unencumbered by compensated transactions and intellectual property rights.Free innovation is already widespread in national economies and is steadily increasing in both scale and scope. Today, tens of millions of consumers are collectively spending tens of billions of dollars annually on innovation development. However, because free innovations are developed during consumers' unpaid, discretionary time and are given away rather than sold, their collective impact and value have until very recently been hidden from view. This has caused researchers, governments, and firms to focus too much on the Schumpeterian idea of innovation as a producer-dominated activity.Free innovation has both advantages and drawbacks. Because free innovators are self-rewarded by such factors as personal utility, learning, and fun, they often pioneer new areas before producers see commercial potential. At the same time, because they give away their innovations, free innovators generally have very little incentive to invest in diffusing what they create, which reduces the social value of their efforts. The best solution, von Hippel and his colleagues argue, is a division of labor between free innovators and producers, enabling each to do what they do best. The result will be both increased producer profits and increased social welfarea gain for all.
