Bag om Major Barbara
Major Barbara is a play written by George Bernard Shaw that was first performed in 1905. The play centers around Barbara Undershaft, a major in the Salvation Army who is dedicated to helping the poor and needy. However, her beliefs are challenged when her estranged father, Andrew Undershaft, a wealthy weapons manufacturer, comes back into her life. Andrew tries to convince Barbara and her colleagues that the only way to truly help people is through economic power, and that weapons manufacturing is a necessary evil in the world. Barbara must reconcile her beliefs with her father's arguments and decide where her loyalties lie. The play explores themes of morality, capitalism, and the role of religion in society. It is considered one of Shaw's most important works and continues to be performed and studied today.LADY BRITOMART.
