Salome

Oscar Wilde's play based on the Biblical story of Salome and John the Baptist, told in one act. Originally produced in French, the play was banned in the UK until the 1930s. It is one of the most performed plays not written by Shakespeare and yet remained considered one of Wilde's lesser works for decades.
