Bag om The Haunting of Grandma Crowley
The dead don't always stay dead... not when they have a link to bridge the gap to life...14-year-old Danny Willow thinks the death of his sweet, compassionate grandmother, Ethel Crowley, is the end of her; until, that is, he begins to see and hear very strange things at the viewing. At first he chalks it up to an overactive imagination. He's never seen a dead body before, so maybe it, in essence, has rendered him briefly insane. But then he sees her at home, in the middle of the night, threatening him, telling him that within fourteen days, on October 31, his time will come to an end and the black goat of a thousand young shall roam free again.Danny really thinks he's beginning to lose it. Maybe he has a brain tumor or the onset of schizophrenia. That only makes sense, right? Surely his grandma is not returning with some beast from a dark dimension, has she?He receives conformation when his best friend fails to see her, too. Afraid and alone, he tells the school nurse, as well as his mom, who worriedly rushes him to a local mental health facility. There, a psychiatrist diagnosis him with PTSD. That's all it is: trauma from the viewing. Danny has to take medication and it will all go away.It helps for awhile, until he sees her again. And again. And again. Following him everywhere he goes. Monitoring him like a trained spy. Mom doesn't believe him. Randy, his friend, doesn't believe him. Nobody does. He can't even understand it, himself. All he knows is that time is running out.He doesn't know what Ethel is, what she really wants, or why she's after him. But she's coming. From some deep, dark, abominable pit, she waits for the time to be right, the stars to align.Danny realizes he must convince others. He must dig for answers. And he must fight, because on Halloween, his number might just be up.
