Kathy Sullivan has no time for relationships. Taking up a new job as company pilot in Alice Springs, she's focussed on developing her career. She didn't plan for the impact encounters with Alex Woodleigh would have on her. He was the most arrogant man she'd ever met, so why did she feel the way she did?
Still mourning the death of his childhood friend, Alex is affronted at the thought of a city woman stepping into the dead man's shoes. He's conflicted between loyalty to a mate, and the increasing attraction to a woman who gives as good as she gets.
In the face of disaster,Alex is forced to acknowledge the basis for his actions. Is it too late to convince Kathy his motivations are genuine? There's still the issue of compensation for the damaged plane. She's outraged at what she believes Alex is suggesting.
