In this post-Armageddon metaphysical fantasy, the Grindstaffs struggle in the foothills of the Himalayas to save animals from extinction. But can they also save themselves? Adam chooses scientific experimentation, and Naomi meditates to find a spiritual path beyond physical existence. As they fight against time and the greedy corporationists, we wonder if we might be looking at our own future, just around the corner. The zoo is not just for animals any more. Spier traveled to Nepal to research Tibetan lore and to climb the trails of the Himalayan Mountains. Most of the highly improbable features of this story can be found in local myths and traditions. Eclecticism would describe Ann's Spier's background. With three advanced degrees in music, she has sung operas, taught music, and traveled the world in singing groups. She has been broker/owner of two real estate companies and operations manager of an investment office. But her first love is writing, which she continues to do enthusiastically in California where she lives with her husband and two dogs.
