When five college friends head to Daytona Beach for Spring Break, it's everything they think it will be. Sunshine, parties, and beaches. But when one of them doesn't make it back home, their lives are flipped upside down. The mother of the 20-year-old student who turns up dead isn't getting the answers she wants from the police after they deem the tragic incident a suicide. It is then that she decides to pay a visit to ACL Investigative Services. P.I. Allison Hart, along with her partners, Charlie Wells and Lucy Boyce, turn over every stone. Friends, lovers, college professors, all are in their crosshairs and all are questioned. Every one of them has a reason why the young woman would've taken her own life. Every one of them has a reason why she might have been killed. Someone is lying. They take a deep dive into the girl's life only to unearth more questions than answers. If it was suicide, who missed her cries for help? If it was murder, who had a motive? The Tampa detective isn't convinced it's anything other than what the evidence shows. It's now up to the private investigative team to wade through a sea of lies, half-truths, and betrayals until they reach the truth. But who will that truth hurt the most? Robin Mahle is pleased to present this fourth installment in the Allison Hart series. She's a sharp-witted private investigator who works alongside her partners, the feisty Charlie wells, and young Lucy Boyce to offer their unique style of investigating in the Sunshine State.
When a desperate woman walks through the door of ACL Investigative Services, P.I. Allison Hart grows reluctant after hearing her claim. She's not alone in that hesitation when her partners, Charlie Wells, and Lucy Boyce stand in disbelief. The woman, Tabitha Barnes, recounts the surreal event that transpired while she was under anesthesia only a week earlier for a routine operation. She sees her son, a young boy who had been kidnapped one year earlier, wandering a parking lot alone. She awakens and tries to convince her doctor what she saw was real. He believes it was nothing more than the concoction of sedatives in her system and a mother's grief.Allison is prepared to write off the claim as well, convinced the woman is still struggling with her son's disappearance. But when Tabitha produces evidence to suggest she could be telling the truth, Allison turns to her team to consider the request. The reluctant investigators agree to help. Nevertheless, when they present the evidence to the police, it is dismissed as having been reviewed before. The initial investigation had gone cold and the police had all but closed the case. If the police weren't going to continue their search, then it would be up to Allison and her team to help Tabitha find her son.Robin Mahle is pleased to present this third installment in the Allison Hart series. She's a sharp-witted private investigator who works alongside her staunch ally, the sassy Charlie wells, to offer their unique style of investigating.
