This book is an account of the variation between two possessive constructions in Danish and Swedish: the s-genitive and the prepositional construction. Present-day corpus data, as well as historical data (corpus texts from 1250-1550) are explored.

The volume explores clause-linkage strategies from a cross-linguistic perspective with an emphasis on asyndetic constructions. The data-driven approaches focus on areal differences and similarities in using non-finite verb forms in complex sentences in languages situated in Central and Western Siberia.

Syntax on the Edge defines and applies an original approach to syntactic structure based on graph theory. We explore the nature of syntax as a formal system of connections between expressions, and address long-standing puzzles in English and Spanish grammar.
