This book shows how the creation of a European Energy Union might be an effective and viable solution to the energy security problems that the EU is facing. The aim is to make it easier to trade energy inside the EU. The EU currently has to rely on energy-rich countries for its energy needs, many of whom are politically and economically unstable.
Supergrid is a European project that will not only integrate the energy markets but will contribute to the European Union further integration process. This book will show that the above could be implemented today if there was the political will do so followed by the implementation of the necessary regulatory instruments.
This book discusses the European '2050 Energy Roadmap to a low Carbon Economy: Energy Policy & Innovation'. It represents the outcome of the 3rd Academic Roundtable of the Loyola de Palacio Chair at the European University Institute held in Florence on the 24th of May 2011.
This book takes stock of today's EU gas security of supply governance. Its based on the conference proceedings of the four-tier programme "A New EU Gas of Supply Architecture" organized by the Loyola de Palacio Chair, the Clingendael International Energy Programme, the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei and Wilton Park Conferences.
