Digital geometry emerged as an independent discipline in the second half of the last century. It deals with geometric properties of digital objects and is developed with the unambiguous goal to provide rigorous theoretical foundations for devising new advanced approaches and algorithms for various problems of visual computing.

Since the early 20th century, medical imaging has been dominated by monochrome imaging modalities such as x-ray, computed tomography, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging.

This volume collects state-of-the-art research, methods and new ideas on the subject of computational vision and medical image processing. As a result, the text contributes to developments in the fields of informatics, mathematics, statistics, psychology, mechanics and physics.

This volume contains original submissions on the development and application of molecular imaging computing.
