Bizzy (Santa's "Right Hand Man") is a great organizer. He not only convinces S. C. (Santa Claus) to let the depressed Izzy Elves go on a much-needed vacation, but he finds a great place where they can blend in-Santa Claus Lane. What he doesn't plan on, however, is the other elves calling him "bossy boots," or two smart boys, Henry and Miles, recognizing the Izzies despite their disguises.
TIZZY, THE CHRISTMAS SHELF ELF is the first of the Santa's Izzy Elves stories in verse. In it, naughty Owen and Alex sneak downstairs early on Christmas morning before their parents are up and open one of their big presents from Santa. To their astonishment, they find Tizzy, one of Santa's elves, has been packed inside by mistake. Tizzy, desperate to get back to the North Pole, points out that Santa's sleigh is powered by the imaginations of children, and asks the two boys to use the power of their own imaginations to send him home. But how?
FRIZZY, THE S.A.D. ELF is the fourth of these poetic tales. In this story, Frizzy, one of Santa's Izzy Elves, styles the hair of Christmas dollies, but misses them dreadfully when Santa takes them away on Christmas Eve. (She suffers from S.A.D.: Seasonal Affection Distress.) Frizzy decides she needs to change her job so she doesn't get so attached to the toys she works on. She starts making something completely different but soon finds that her plan isn't going to work out exactly as she intended!Santa's Izzies are tech-savvy, 21st century elves. Their stories, modeled on the 19th century classic poem, "A Visit from St. Nicholas," are aimed at elementary school-aged kids who enjoy rhymes, rhythm, and word play a la Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein. One reviewer said these books are ". . .rich in plot and language, reflect the lives of kids today, and keep the fun, anticipation, and magic of Christmas alive."
Clever snow globe maker Blizzy's concern, curiosity, and keen mind help her solve the puzzle of Tizzy's disappearance. In this rhyming story modeled on Clement Moore's classic poem, she becomes a Miss Marple of the North Pole!
In the third of these tales, Dizzy has worked all year right next to his friend, Tizzy, and heard all about his Great Adventure (as recounted in TIZZY, THE CHRISTMAS SHELF ELF). The trouble is, Dizzy wants to have an adventure, too! When he sneaks aboard Santa's sleigh, Dizzy finds all the adventure he's dreamed of, with two little boys, Stuart and Drake. The three of them share a wild joy ride and plenty of fun.
