Fear to tread...With their core directive restored, the Asurans have begun to attack the Wraith on multiple fronts. Under the command of Colonel Ellis, the Apollo is dispatched to observe the battlefront, but Ellis''s orders not to intervene are quickly breached when an Ancient ship drops out of hyperspace.Inside is Angelus, fleeing the destruction of a world he has spent millennia protecting from the Wraith. Charming and likable, Angelus quickly connects with each member of the Atlantis team in a unique way and, more than that, offers them a weapon that could put an end to their war with both the Wraith and the Asurans. But all is not what it seems, and even Angelus is unaware of his true nature - a nature that threatens the very survival of Atlantis itself...AngelusOut in the lightless gulfs of space, two great powers coiled around each other like monstrous serpents. And, like monsters, they fought and tore.A week before, Ellis had watched the blood of the two serpents spread across Colonel Carter''s starmap in a series of vivid splashes: a brilliant, icy blue for the Wraith, a gory scarlet for the Asurans. Each splash, Carter had told him, was the site of a known engagement. Between these battle markers lay the serpents themselves, twisting wildly through each other in three dimensions - an approximation of the two powers'' battle lines. The whole map, in fact, was an approximation, and therein lay the danger of it. "Most of this information is days old," Carter had told him, pointing vaguely at a cluster of splashes. "At best we find out about one of these engagements a few hours after it''s over and done. Really, we''ve got no idea exactly where the fighting is going on."Ellis had peered closely at the map, a gnawing feeling of worry under his sternum. Carter had scaled the display to take in dozens of star systems, and already half of them were enveloped by the serpents and their terrible wounds. "Is there anything you can be certain of?""Just this." Carter had touched a control, and a small green dot had blinked into life in the centre of the display."Let me guess." Ellis straightened up. "Atlantis."
When Dr Carson Beckett disturbs the rest of two long-dead Ancients, the very existence of Lantea is at risk. Colonel John Sheppard leads his team on a search for the ancient device that could save Atlantis. There they discover a human experiment that could mean their salvation. But the team's prejudices lead them to make a fatal error.
The Atlantis team gates to a new world in search of a ZPM power module. What they find is a militaristic society where violence is glorified and life is cheap. When one of the team goes missing, the rest of them must enter the fray and rescue their missing team mate before a worse horror is unleashed on the planet.
The Stargate Atlantis team encounter a society where high priests of the local cult are able to protect the society from attacks by the Wraith using technology left behind by the Ancients. However, the genetic ability to use these weapons has faded over successive generations, leaving the people increasingly vulnerable to attack.
Lost and Found...In the fragile peace following Queen Death''s defeat, Dr. Daniel Jackson arrives in Atlantis to indulge in some real archaeology. Naturally, things don''t go according to plan.Convinced that an Ascended Elizabeth Weir saved his life, Dr. Rodney McKay argues that she must have escaped her replicator body in order to ascend. No one believes him, but when rumors reach Atlantis of a woman with no memory who calls herself ''Elizabeth'', Rodney is determined to track her down.Meanwhile, Daniel''s research uncovers evidence of Vanir activity in the Pegasus galaxy - evidence that casts both light and shadow over the mystery of Elizabeth...UnascendedAhead of them, he could see the green line of brush that sloped down to the river. So could every small animal trying to escape the fire. Anything that wasn''t caught in the nets would make for the protection of the water-"They''re going to be waiting at the river," Ronon said, catching up to Daniel. He sounded as though this were no more than an easy jog."I know," John called from behind him. "But they don''t look like great swimmers, so when we get there, everybody into the water.""We''re going to have to go through these guys," Ronon said."We''ve just met an entirely new intelligent species, and we''re about to make first contact by shooting them," Daniel said."You got a better idea?""Try warning shots," John said. "And, yes, Rodney, I remember why that''s a bad idea, but we''re heading straight for the river.""I''m just saying the two things I didn''t want in my day were dinosaurs and fire!" Rodney said, unslinging his own P-90 and cradling it as he ran."They''re not dinosaurs, McKay.""Birds are essentially dinosaurs, any paleontologist-"Ronon grabbed the back of Rodney''s jacket, thrusting him forward faster. "Shut up and run!"
