Richard Brown Baker (1912-2002) began collecting works by emerging artists in the 1940s, becoming one of the first collectors to actively embrace both Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art and eventually amassing more than 1,600 works from the postwar period. Highlighting 130 works, this title presents the complete history of Baker's collection.

Celebrates a cornerstone of the Yale University Art Gallery's holdings: the Charles B Benenson Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art. This bequest includes works by a veritable pantheon of modern and contemporary artists - among them Jean-Michel Basquiat, Stuart Davis, Fernand Leger, Joan Miro, James Rosenquist, and David Smith.
