De fantastiske vikingehistorier om Anders Vildand og Lille Gny er lavet over en næsten 50-årig periode, og for første gang nogensinde samles de nu i én bog. En bog der samtidig er en hyldest til skaberen af Anders Vildand, den italienske maestro Marco Rota, der har arbejdet med Disney-historier siden 1966, og som i september 2022 rundede de 80 år. Det er dog ingen alder for Rota, der stadig leverer historier til Anders And & Co. på ugentlig basis og til denne bog har lavet den første historie med vores helt Anders Vildand i 16 år. Marco Rota fik idéen til sagaen om Anders Vildand fra den gamle storfilm, ”Vikingerne”, fra 1958 med Kirk Douglas og Tony Curtis i hovedrollerne, men i modsætning til de fleste andre vikingehistorier er vores helt ikke selv viking – han er derimod frygtelig bange for dem, og det skaber nogle helt igennem utraditionelle og morsomme situationer, der sjældent er set andre stede.
