It is not only a matter of being a compulsory subject within the school curriculum but it is also an area of study that many students/ pupils want to develop. Many Yemeni parents have recently recognized the importance of English as a key to science, technology and business in our modern world and want their children to get mastery over English. Unfortunately, though its recognized importance by teachers, schoolmasters, students and parents, the outcomes, especially within the rural Yemeni context, are still low and most students can¿t cultivate a good level of English during their pre-tertiary education due to many challenges that obstruct English language teaching in the Yemeni schools.This study was an attempt to survey challenges of English language teaching in AL-Dhalea primary and secondary schools from the viewpoints of 20 EFL senior teachers and supervisors for the purpose of identifying such challenges and suggesting some solutions and strategies for better English language teaching. Findings show that large classes, lack of teaching aids, teachers¿ low proficiency in English and their limited experience with communicative language teaching are considered as major challenges of English language teaching in the concerned Yemeni primary and secondary schools.

Master's Thesis from the year 2016 in the subject Didactics - English - Pedagogy, Literature Studies, grade: -, , language: English, abstract: This research paper is part of the Language Center Project that is conceived and designed, under the auspices of Cadi Ayyad University, by a team made up of professors from the English and French departments at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Marrakech. It investigates the field of foreign language didactics and analyzes Cadi Ayyad students¿ needs in foreign languages. The research was carried out using questionnaires that were administered to a sample of 435 students from six faculties and ENS in Marrakech. The results revealed that the majority of the respondents are not proficient in foreign languages and that they are willing to learn another foreign language. The purpose of the paper then is to suggest practical strategies and techniques for Cadi Ayyad Language Center to implement with the aim of enhancing the University students¿ foreign language skills.

This is the most common foreign language. The study was conducted at the secondary level (9th and 10th class) in Lyallpur Town, Faisalabad. List of secondary level schools in Lyallpur Town, Faisalabad, was selected as a school of four government and four private schools, submitted in the light of the Office of Secondary Education Officer, Secondary Education Faisalabad and such lists. I am the highest student admission town, Faisalabad. The sample size was properly set according to the use of the available population and sample samples available in selected schools www.surveysystem.com. For this purpose, a well-developed questionnaire was created to collect the database. Then, the collected data was analysed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
