Die Figur VAKOG kommt mit den verschiedenen Sinneseindrücken nicht zurecht und wird von der Blume Lila dazu animiert, über den ersten Sinneseindruck hinaus, weitere Eindrücke in das Gesamtbild einzubeziehen. So wird von den zunächst negativen Eindrücken über positive Erlebnisse ein neutraler beziehungsweise 'normaler' Sinneseindruck gewonnen. Das Kind, dem die Geschichte vorgelesen wird, folgt dem Schema 'negativ-positiv' und wird am Ende der einzelnen Schritte durch eine Rückbetrachtung dazu angeregt, sich selber mit dem jeweiligen Sinn zu befassen. So lernt es, die Sinne zu verwenden. Das erlebnishafte Erarbeiten des Buches durch gemeinsames Lesen/Vorlesen und Entdecken kann zu einer fröhlicheren Wahrnehmung des Alltags und einer grundsätzlichen Offenheit dem Leben gegenüber beitragen. Das Erlernen der Sinneswahrnehmungen durch aktive Unterstützung ist ein neues Lernkonzept.
