The book emphasize the inevitability of persecution for as many as those that intend to live a godly life in Christ. This suggest that as many Christian that are not experiencing persecution are not living a godly life. This is because persecution is s sign of godly living. There are every tendencies for fear to set in as a result of persecution, Christian should know that God has not given them the spirit of fear, thus phobia should be managed to the barest minimum. Contemporary Christian should be afraid of the one who can kill their body and soul and not the one who can only kill the body. Consequently, the emotion of fear or phobia among christians should be managed in the course of living a godly life in Christ.
The book seeks to correct the anomaly in the theology of prayer among contemporary Christians who have replaced hard work with prayer thereby presenting God as a magician. The book reveals that everything should be subjected to reasonable faith to avoid extreme nihilism and rationalism. There's no conflict between faith and reason as the duo compliment each other. There is the need to strike a balance between Faith, prayer and hard work through rational reasoning.
