Freedom for humanity comes in the form of writing without limits and preconceived ideas that move the mind and heart forward. Fear can be eliminated by those willing to reach and teach those with similar aspirations. Oftentimes knowledge is lost or shared by a select few. This prolific dissertation changes that narrative with bursts of poetic truths concerning grief, culture, and human rights. "Writing allows my mind to reflect on what was and what is possible. Having the courage to ask the universe to be free I have asked. Freeing my access to obstacles and stumbling blocks of humanity. Five shots rang out in the middle of the day. As smoke rises from the barrel of the black 9mm pistol and the smell of gunpowder fills the air, I collapse to the hot graveled asphalt on the side of the road. My wife screams for me as she is being held down on the ground and her arms restrained by this foul-breathed laughing monster on top of her on the other side of the car. I can see her from the bottom of the car as I lay here. My chest and stomach are burning as if someone is stabbing me with a thousand burning hot knives. Broken glass covers my body from the back window of the car as the taste of warm blood fills my mouth. "Let's put an end to police brutality, racial violence, and injustice. If there is injustice against even one person, there cannot be justice for all." - Rodney
