This poetry collection includes poems Amanda Leigh wrote after her hospital stay in December 2012. They are not pretty, fluffy pieces. They are sometimes graphic, sometimes silly, but they are real. These are some of the things Amanda was feeling then.
The worst was definitely behind me. I'd survived my childhood, which was really saying a lot. It was time for me to enjoy life as a college student. Party with some friends, flirt and maybe even date a nice guy. It was time for me to move away from my past. When my twenty-first birthday approached, however, my mother's past returned to claim something that should be rightfully mine. I always thought it was hard having a mother that told me demons were coming for me. A mother that tried to kill me in order to save my soul. But then I started seeing a demon everywhere I went, and he told me he had a claim to my soul. I started to worry that maybe my mother knew something the rest of us didn't. Now I'll have to find a way to save myself, and prove to those closest to me that the demon I'm seeing is real.Trigger Warnings: Please be aware this novel discusses subjects that could be harmful to a reader.
