The poems are about so many topics for children in school (educational)aged 10-14. History, social history, equality of the sexes, the environment, climate change and how this affects populations. Anna Claire was born on the Fylde coast, England in the 1950's. She spent a few years living in Cambridge, Norway and Denmark before returning to the Fylde coast. She has written several books, some under her former name of Anna Ashton. Anna has mainly written stories for children but also poetry, some for children and some of a more serious nature. She hopes that this little book encourages middle school children to learn about history, social history, the environment, social injustice and how to improve quality of life through following a healthy, physically and spiritually, way of life blending the teachings of east and west. Anna has five sons and several grandchildren.
Anna Claire has written these poems with older schoolchildren in mind, hoping they will encourage lively debate and reflection. Many of the poems are personal, and some are tragic but they are based on situations and circumstances that most of us encounter or face at some point during our lifetime.Reflection enables us to respond to others with understanding, and perhaps with the benefit of doing so, we are better equipped to deal with that which might otherwise overwhelm oneself, or those close to us.The human spirit is strong and has amazing abilities to overcome difficulties.
