Die Unternehmen in diesem Markt bieten sehr ähnliche Produkte und Services an, weshalb eine Differenzierung nur schwer möglich ist. Daher wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob die Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit Einfluss auf die Kundenorientierung hat und in weiterer Folge auch auf die Kundenzufriedenheit. Es wird ermittelt, ob die Kompetenz und Freundlichkeit der Verkaufsmitarbeiter entscheidend für die Kundenzufriedenheit sind und welchen Stellenwert sie gegenüber klassischen Aspekten wie Lieferfähigkeit, Preis und Produktqualität einnehmen.Auf Grundlage aktueller Fachliteratur und Forschungsarbeiten aus diesem Gebiet, werden mittels einer Fokusgruppe und Fragebögen zu Kunden-und Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit, in einem ausgewählten Unternehmen Befragungen durchgeführt. Um Vergleichswerte zu erhalten, finden die Erhebungen bei Mitarbeitern und Kunden in mehreren Filialen des Unternehmens im Automotive-Aftermarket statt. Basierend auf den Ergebnissen der Erhebungen, geht der Autor dieser Thesis nur von einem geringen Einfluss der Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit auf die Kundenorientierung aus. In weiterer Folge ist ein Einfluss auf die Kundenzufriedenheit im gegenständlichen Untersuchungsfall nicht definitiv feststellbar.Die Ergebnisse deuten an, dass Kompetenz und Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter von den Kunden vorausgesetzt wird. Die Beachtung dieses Aspektes eignet sich demnach zur Vorbeugung von Kundenunzufriedenheit, was jedoch noch keine positive Differenzierung gegenüber Mitbewerbern ausmacht.
