Ética a Nicômaco é a principal obra de Aristóteles sobre ética. Aristóteles discute também sobrea natureza do raciocínio prático, o valor e os objetos de prazer, as diferentes formas de amizade e a relação entre a virtude individual, a sociedade e o Estado. Esta obra teve uma influência profunda e duradoura em todo o pensamento ocidental posterior sobre questões éticas.

Im 2. Jahrhundert n. Chr. hat der heute vor allem als Autor des Romans Der goldene Esel bekannte Philosoph das Werk frei ins Lateinische übertragen und dabei für eine römische Leserschaft angepasst. Eine deutsche Übersetzung von Apuleius' De mundo fehlte bisher. Der vorliegende Band macht nun beide Werke erstmals zweisprachig zugänglich und erschließt ihre Bedeutung für die antike Kultur.
