Street rods are old cars rebuilt by people who have a passion for owning and driving cars that have been modified for speed and power as well as have the conveniences of modern automobiles such as power steering and brakes, hi-fidelity music systems, luxurious seating and modern air conditioning.Many street rods are built by owners with a variety of mechanical skills and they often do not build them to the strictest of rules of safety. Thus, they sometimes break down or have accidents while away from home.The author has compiled 80 stories from 50 street rodders that convey to the reader the adventures that they have experienced that were frightening, discouraging, upsetting and of course, expensive.
