The story of The Log-Cabin Lady is one of the annals of America. It is a moving record of the conquest of self-consciousness and fear through mastery of manners and customs. It has been written by one who has not sacrificed the strength and honesty of her pioneer girlhood, but who added to these qualities that graciousness and charm which have given her distinction on two continents.

The tyranny of Superstition over the minds of mankind has certainly been more extensive, more lasting, and despotick, than any other empire in the world ever was. To attempt a resistance against it's dominion, during its strength, would have been only sacrificing to it what was least devoted: while a belief of Antipodes, which is certainly true; or a disbelief of transubstantiation, which is certainly false; were reckoned equal to the crimes of Socrates: and subjected the daring rebel to the spiritual discipline of the inquisition. But in the present decline of it's power, when Ghosts and Spirits are delivered up as playthings to children; it may not be a desperate enterprize to combat this mighty Colossus. It is, I am conscious, a feeble hand, that here aims a blow, and it will be no wonder if one of the first attempts of this kind makes but little impression, but at least it may perhaps encourage some abler arm to push the tottering monster with greater force; and fetch it to the ground.
The Gospel of Yiron is an unknown work that draws heavily from Mark and the other synoptic gospels, as well as apocrypha and other Christian writings.
Clean Your Boots, Sir?This is a captivating story about a hard-working shoeshine boy who is willing to clean the filthy old boots of a farmer, knowing that he doesn't pay very well. Later, a small act of honesty, when he thought no one was looking, causes him to become successful for the rest of his life.An absolute gem of a book for teaching how important it is to have a good character.
My book is about my one year with GOD and the study of the bible. I have read the bible all my life, but I have never researched it like this before. The book also includes a brief story of my life growing up, becoming prejudiced, fighting all through high school, doing drugs and growing pot, jumping back and forth between parent and getting married at a young age, raising kids, my youngest son going through cancer, getting divorced, being a carpenter and a framing contractor and Traveling around the United States. The story is sad but it is really funny too. I think you will really like reading it.
"The Life of Clement Studebaker" is a typewritten manuscript held in the collection of the St. Joseph County Library in South Bend, Indiana. Written after his death in 1901, it was never published. Although Clement died just at the dawn of the automobile age, he, together with his brother John Mohler Studebaker, established the character of the business and hand-picked the successors who introduced the company's first cars. Clement, therefore, is an important precursor to the history of the automobile industry. "The Life of Clement Studebaker" covers his business life, his political life, his family life, his church life, and his connections with other businesses and other people in South Bend. It illuminates the man and gives insight. This fascinating 188-page biography belongs on the shelf of everyone interested in the history of the Studebaker Corporation, the city of South Bend, the automobile industry, or life in the late 19th century.
