The acquisition of the state status of the Kazakh language in the years of independence gave a powerful impetus to the activation of innovative processes of word and meaning formation in the lexical and semantic system of the modern Kazakh language. The purpose of the monograph is to study the current state of the vocabulary of the Kazakh language, the dynamics of its development during the years of independence, to identify active derivative and lexico-semantic processes, to establish the conformity of the neoplasms to the norms of the literary Kazakh language.
In this monograph the most comprehensive array of lexico-semantic neologisms in the Kazakh language of the period of independence is considered as a result of monitoring of lexical innovations occurring in the language and trends of their further development. The use of the method of continuous sampling in Kazakhstan¿s media space and the new polyparadigmatic research approach for the objectification of the process of recognizing the character of the neologisms (neologism- meaning, usual - occasional, vernacular Kazakh - borrowed, derivative - lexico-semantic derivative) allowed us to significantly expand the empirical basis of the research and to reach a new level of research, providing a comprehensive analysis of each neologism (word and its meaning) in terms of normativity, usability / occasionality, variability, productivity, novelty, etc. The results of the research supplement Kazakh neology with new conclusions, introducing new phenomena in the Kazakh word formation and meaning formation, which is a definite contribution to the development of Kazakh linguistics, Turkology, onomasiology, sociolinguistics and in general, the general theory of language.
