The UFO Armageddon is a hilarious look at UFOs, unlikely aliens and the ludicrous fictional reminiscences of an assortment of confused humans, brought together through the pages of an imaginary magazine devoted to the world of flying saucers. Fully illustrated with the author's own cartoons and a bundle of crazy photographs and front cover images it tells the brief story of the defunct extraterrestrial magazine The UFO Armageddon, created by identical twins Maurice and Adelbald Slump on a work bench at the rear of their garage in the mid-1980s. Their many and varied accounts of strange, otherworldly doings include the case of American farmer, John Owensborough who was "confronted near his chicken house by a pink quadruped with frog-like eyes wearing a stovepipe hat and full evening dress. In a high-pitched shriek the creature told John in broken English that it was friendly and only wanted to take his dog, but became petulant when John offered his wife instead." Or the little-known tale of a US military colonel and tiddlywinks master, who created the term Ufology when faced with some "awkward letters" during the nail-biting final of a Joint Forces Scrabble Tournament by trying to slip in an anagram of his granddaughter's nick-name, "Goofy Lu." It's all here, and more besides, and above...
Most sixteen year-old kids joyride in Daddy's pickup. Not Brian Thomas. Instead, you find him out buzzing the football team in Daddy's airplane. Flying is his life-it's in his blood. Both of his parents are pilots. His older brother is in the Air Force. And he can't imagine himself as anything but an aviator. That is, until the bleeding disorder he's battled since he was two years old sidelines him. After several failed chemotherapy treatments, Brian opts for a potentially disease-curing, but risky spleen removal. After more chemotherapy, he regains his flight status, but now he's left with an altered immune system. In April of 2009, Brian leaves his job at Duncan Aviation, where he is an aviation mechanic, to go home with what he thinks is the flu. Four hours later, he is comatose and on life-support. His hands, feet, and face develop gangrene. Ten days later when he wakes up, he must face the prospect of becoming a quadruple amputee. Surgeons save his left hand, but he faces a long road to recovery, and regaining his life.
MISCHIEF is set in the group of atolls and reefs called the Spratly Islands. Sovereignty is hotly contested by the countries surrounding this area of the South China Sea where untold riches of oil, gas and minerals create conflict and attracts the attention of the world.Mysterious attacks on commercial shipping passing through the area creates confusion amongst the Royal Navy and British Intelligence agencies. While England is winning the World Cup, Lt Jamie Davis, with experience of working with the Special Boat Section on developing submersible delivery vehicles, joins a crack team of the Special Boat Service to investigate. The aim is to discover the true perpetrators of devastating acts of piracy and to eliminate the discredit heaping up on the innocent. Using untried torpedo tugs launched from a submarine the team discover international intrigue ranging from Hong Kong to Singapore. The fast moving and tense action builds to an explosive finish, shattering the tranquility of the archipelago.Brian Thomas brings an authentic touch to the story, having served as a submariner in this area. His duties included support for Special Forces operatives in the development of hand held sonar devices to ease the dangerous and often unsuccessful return of clandestine swimmers to a submarine.
The Other Side of the Ribbon gives an hilarious inside look at the things said and done in provincial newspapers' newsrooms, on the other side of the typewriter ribbon: from ant invasions to escaping bullocks to the epic trials of moving a desk between two offices only feet apart. It is illustrated with the author's own cartoons.

Pride: Demigod - Book 2 Following on from Jason's revenge against the London based criminal gang that raided his house and murdered Brygida, Pride starts with the aftermath of that mass killing frenzy. Jason knows that eventually the authorities will link Brygida's murder and the subsequent massacre of the criminal gang to him. Using his time wisely, he prepares, building his wealth and influence, growing his network of contacts for when they will be needed. As expected, the police arrive armed with that connection providing more than adequate motive but only circumstantial evidence. The investigating officer becomes convinced of Jason's deeper involvement and will not easily be shaken off. It then becomes a game of wits to deflect the investigation elsewhere and using his new-found political influence to remove himself as a suspect from the investigation. Still under suspicion with the investigating officer, Jason, nevertheless, manipulates events to ensure he is eliminated as a person of interest from the investigation. Feeling sufficiently secure to move on, Jason is once again drawn to America and shortly after arriving identifies someone else with paranormal abilities. Initially shocked and wary at having been also sensed by them, he nevertheless decides to track them down, quickly becoming embroiled with powerful and ruthless individuals who will do whatever they need to achieve their own ends. Determined to maintain his low profile and anonymity, Jason tries to stay clear from criminal activities and violence, while focusing on his own activities but is inexorably drawn in. He is soon fending off organised criminals and corrupt police detectives, while trying to avoid further contact or involvement. It soon becomes a direct and violent confrontation as his adversaries start to target those around him and just when he needs it most, his power temporarily lets him down, forcing Jason to rely on his own resources until he can once again bring his power to bear. In the meantime, Jason's understanding and control of his power is growing, drawing him to a devastating conclusion, that if correct risks everyone he cares for and holds dear. For now, he must focus on protecting those he loves and who need his assistance from the immediate threat, but once the immediate problem is resolved, he is starting to realise he will need to face up to an even greater threat, something that turns his blood cold with dread and for which he has no answer....
Demigod Series - Demon Book 3: Jason discovers that despite giving all he had in the battle to save Maria's life at best it was a Pyrrhic victory. Exposed to the full force of his power she is now estranged from him, fearing him and worse collaborating with investigation agencies to gather evidence against him. Barely recovered from his ordeal and devastated at the repercussions of using his power on Maria, he feels the need to put space between himself and those he cares for, before he causes them further harm.Sensing a mysterious and persistent demand for help directed towards his power, Jason willingly complies, driven by curiosity and hoping for a distraction from his current problems. Given the nature of the call, it also holds the tantalising prospect of discovering more about the nature of his own power. With the ongoing battle between his multiple personalities and the increasing growth of his power, he feels the urgent need to find a solution to reconcile his unique problems before they consume him or leave him exposed to the world for what he is.What starts as a mild curiosity on his part rapidly develops into a life-threatening scenario that, once he becomes committed to, promises to suck him in beyond a point he can get back out of. Physical risks quickly develop into moral obligation leading to responsibilities he can't possibly fulfil. As the problems mount, he starts to realise the situation also provides the best opportunity yet of discovering more about his power. Whatever that opportunity can deliver for him it has to be quick, as he fights to stave off death for the one person who might provide the invaluable insight he needs. Jason rapidly becomes embroiled in a dangerous game of hiding in the open from the agencies he wants to avoid, who are already focused on the person he has been called to help. Whatever precautions he takes he is inexorably pulled closer to the spotlight and beneath the magnifying glass of those he is trying to avoid.Even in the forest wilderness along the Virginia Appalachian Trail, coincidence and controversy dog Jason and he must tread his own narrow trail, where a single misstep will see his downfall along with those he feels driven to protect. More than ever, Jason is forced to fall back on his ability to sow confusion and misdirection, so attention is focused elsewhere, anywhere other than on himself. If he can maintain the illusion long enough, he may just buy sufficient time to figure out how to survive the relentless battle for control of his own mind and free will. At the same time, conflict is drawn to him like filings to a magnet, which combined with his inability to idly stand bye, while the less able are victimised and he must again fend off the predations of the ruthless and powerful. In parallel, unbeknown to Jason, someone else is conducting their own investigation into him on both sides of the Atlantic, acquiring a deeper understanding of him than he has of himself. Fate inexorably draws the different strands together, where the outcome can fall either way. Jason is in a high stakes game where each win results in a bigger pot and higher risk, where at best he can stay in the game but never seem to win. This time, someone has introduced a joker into the pack and the hand he's holding isn't as strong as he believed, with the laughs likely to be all on him.....
Jason's new life with Maria is a delicate balancing act between using his power judiciously to keep some semblance of control over it and not compromising Maria's obligations as a police detective or religious convictions. Despite the challenges, their fledgling relationship grows as they find their own means of navigating the unique perils their respective gifts bring to bear. Just as things appear to settle Jason's friends are subjected to a paranormal attack, something he is duty bound to respond to. New attacks start on multiple fronts from unrelated sources and inevitably disparate events become entwined. Jason finds himself spinning plates in all directions but as events grow more complicated if one plate falls the others will quickly follow. As the threats escalate, the solutions become more desperate and he finds himself becoming an enemy of the Catholic Church, potentially putting him at odds with Maria. Having entered the game the stakes have rapidly climbed beyond what he would have expected and the only way he can see to win risks exposing his true nature to the Church, threatening his anonymity. With threats coming from all sides, and up against witches, demons, Russian mafia and now the Church he is facing a stacked deck. In his favour now is greater understanding of his power and how it works, along with a few tricks he has picked up along the way. Jason will need that new experience and all the tricks at his disposal to keep himself and those he loves safe and his relationship with Maria in-tact. Once again, he is in a high stakes game with everything on the table just to make it through to the next round. He will need all the tricks he knows, and bucket loads of luck just to keep from going under...

In a world of instant download, live streaming, and fast acting devices there seems to be many of us who do not move as swiftly as our nifty toys and devices. We as the users of these things should ask ourselves a question: If our devices in life move at the speed of light then why do we seem to have slowed down in pursuing our dreams? I don't think it's the fault of the devices, I believe its something within us, that makes us WAIT to achieve our greatness. Waiting for someone or something is similar to how we manage our social media accounts. Have you ever caught yourelf "Waiting" on your facebook, instagram, twitter, etc to say you have a new message. The time in between those two messages could've been placed towards your DREAMS. Instead there place towards MEMES. See, I'm not trying to say that you have a problem, "Why Wait When You Can Create was Created because I had a problem. The journey that Why Wait When You Can Create" will take you on has stories of success, failure, highs, and lows. This book has principles that will assist in overcoming the WAITING syndrome while giving you skills to maximize the CREATING zone.
Climate change adaptation teems with large events and subtle forces. Every day, the news brings more stories of climate-related floods, droughts, forest fires, sea level rise, extreme weather, disasters, ecological stress, and infectious diseases. The field also spans new developments in computer modeling, agriculture, water and land use, paleoclimate, scientific research, insurance, and finance. Climate instability takes a dramatic toll on indigenous peoples and developing countries, but it also warps the psychological and social quality of our lives, and in my blogging I don't neglect these subjects, either. You'll find Carbon Based at http: //carbon-based-ghg.blogspot.com. For this year's annual review, I've focused on stories about climate risks, since I view risk as the one way of unifying the thronging variety of climate change adaptation. It's a central topic because one effect of global warming is worsening probabilities, something that is notoriously difficult to detect. It's a natural filter for me because risk has been the subject of many of the articles I've written during 2011.

The book also explores the psychological and sociological aspects of climate instability.

I am a Black man in America . . . and I am privileged. While growing up, author Brian Thomas might not have considered himself privileged. The biracial son of a Black father and a white mother, he watched his parents struggle against racism and bigotry, and witnessed the strain this sometimes placed on their relationship. Yet he also saw them fight their way into the middle-class, which allowed them to buy a nice home in a school district that provided Brian and his sister with a solid education. He now realizes that their sacrifices and determination to provide a better life for their children were what put him in a position of privilege. In spite of the benefits his upbringing afforded him, Brian had to overcome immense hurdles, including two kidney transplants. And his experiences have shown him that regardless of circumstances, success is within everyone’s reach. The Privilege Race explores what it means to be privileged in America and provides a roadmap for you to build a bridge between the life you’re currently living and the one you want to live: Learn about your mental conditioning, to better understand the source of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Determine what you genuinely want from life—not what you’ve been told you should want. Develop a mindset of what’s possible, instead of focusing on the impossible You have the ability to break any generational hardships holding you back. When you stop listening to the false narrative that privilege is something reserved for white people, you can be empowered to seize the life you’re meant to be living.
