Chanakya Neeti' Is a treatise on the ideal way of life and shows Chanakya's deep study of the Indian way of life. Chanakya is regarded as a great thinker and diplomat in India. Chanakya, traditionally known as Kautilya or Vishnu Gupta, was an Indian teacher, philosopher, economist, jurist and royal advisor. He wrote the 'Arthashastra', an ancient Indian political treatise. Considered a pioneer in the field of political science and economics in India, his works, lost towards the end of the Gupta empire, were fortunately rediscovered in 1915. He played a crucial role in the establishment and expansion of the Mauryan empire.
Vishnu Gupta, popularly known as Chanakya, was a scholar in Economics and Political Science who taught as a professor in Takshashila University. He was the chief advisor to the King Chandragupta Maurya and played a crucial role in the establishment of the Mauryan empire. The book, written by him, comprises of Neetis and Sutras. While the Neetis aim at the cultivation of virtues and wisdom, the Sutras contain the rules for enterprise and life management. These words of wisdom enlighten people to lead a quintessential life. Though originally meant to guide the Mauryan king to rule his kingdom wisely, but these words hold no lesser relevance in even today?s time.
