Summary The main objectives of the present study are to examine self-efficacy and quality of life as a factor in influencing women entrepreneurs. Specifically, the current study deals with: Identify factors influencing women entrepreneursTo explore the extent of Self efficacy among women entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh. To study the extent of Quality of Life among women entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh. To examine the differences in the Self efficacy among women entrepreneurs based on demographic variables such as age, marital status, education, type of industries, and type of business and years of establishment among entrepreneurs.The hypothesis formulated in this study were the following: There will be a significant difference in self-efficacy among women entrepreneurs based on demographic variables such as age, marital status, education, type of industries, type of business and years of established.There will be a significant difference between demographical variables such as Age, Marital Status, Education, Type of Industries, Type of Business and modify in the same way as #1. Years of established with Quality of life among entrepreneurs. There will be positive relationship between Self efficacy and Quality of life among entrepreneurs.A descriptive design is considered appropriate to the present research, because accurate and original description is needed in order to identify the factors facing women entrepreneurs. Creswell (2003) gives more detail on the nature of descriptive research, saying that a number of different factors are required to characterize it.The target population of the present study are women entrepreneurs from different enterprisers in Andhra Pradesh. Since the study focus on women entrepreneurs, the sample of this study comprises of women from two different enterprisers in the state .The population of women entrepreneurs for this study included all women entrepreneurs in the manufacturing and services sector registered under the Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC).The primary data were collected through mail survey using a self-administered questionnaire. This method was deemed most practical due to the geographically dispersed samples involved in this study. To answer the research questions developed, three main parts were used demographic information. The self-efficacy scale and the World Health Organization Quality of Life have been developed specifically for the purpose, the items for which were designed based on substantiation from previous research. The standardized instruments utilized for the present study are the following: The analysis process will be completely presented by using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20 as the tools to analyze all the data collected. The result of independent sample t test depicted that there is a highly significant difference among type of industry the participants are working and their quality of life along with significant difference in occupational self-efficacy where participants working in small scale industry showed higher mean value than medium scale industry. Result from one way ANOVA revealed that there is a significant difference found among Age Groups of the participants.Result indicated that there is a significant difference among participant education status and QOL where post graduates showed higher mean value followed by high schooled with respect to Quality of lif
Women are good managers. When a woman can manage a house well she can manage the business as well. Women entrepreneurship is gaining importance in India because of the policies, schemes and the incentives by the government. Organizations like ALEAP India (The Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh) India recognizes the need to encourage women entrepreneurship and started guiding women since 1993. The programs developed by ALEAP, the hand holding support, the institutional entrepreneur development trainings and skill EDP's have widened the scope for better future. The women who owned registered firms are only 30% but there are many more women who run their businesses in an unorganized way. This has to be addressed by the government. Voluntary organizations like Aleap have come forward to help these women to sustain their businesses by availing the possible incentives and grants. Women are leaving the jobs and start their lives as entrepreneurs to have flexibility to take care of home and business. Women owned businesses are gaining importance and traction. This book discusses how the voluntary organization ALEAP India started its journey, how its branches are emerged one after the other. It started with FAB cell (Facilitator business cell). Then it recognised the need for a piece of land to start their business, then proper training to run the business, then access to finance, then marketing etc. As these problems have raised, ALEAP has found solutions. The book covers how ALEAP is helping women entrepreneurs through their journey from 1993 until date.
