From the opening line, "I didn't ask to be here," to its rousing conclusion - "Oh Wow!" - this small gem is a journey well worth the ride.July 20, 1969.....and, what I was watching on television...." I smoked pot for the first time. It wouldn't be the last. https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLxpNiF0YKsJuly 20, 1969.....and, what I was watching on television...." I smoked pot for the first time. It wouldn't be the last. https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLxpNiF0YKs With a manuscript of 73 pages, it is a veritable smörgåsbord of insightful observations on topical issues - including culture, politically correct safe spaces, spirituality, the South, immigration and provocative reflections of revealing life experiences including altar boy, heart attack and stand-up comedy. All are written with a vibe, clarity, passion and heavy doses of much wit and nuggets of wisdom. A little book with a big punch. An easy read with thought-provoking power: "precise, authentic, heartfelt, funny, and moving," one reviewer wrote. "...And I know, dear reader, if you stick with me, you will see I know a lot more. Or think I do. Whatever your persuasion, you are bound to agree, disagree, even offended or amused or all of these. You may not like some of what I say, but I think you will like the way I say it." - Charles Jackson
The title says it all: It's in the Telling: Issues, People and Politics 2008 - 2012. The articles cover a broad spectrum: some are narratives of the recent past and others are as timely now as when they were written. All are lively, informative insightful, and rich in variety, style and tone. Adding to the mix is the spice of "The Georgia Follies: A Satirical Look at Georgia Politics & News." While some of the 2008 - 2012 commentaries are specific to Georgia, most are not. The added 2016 P.S. Presidential Election takes a hard and uncompromising look at the election. Issues - include Afghanistan; Creation, "The 'God Particle' Oh Wow!;" Gulf Oil Spill, "Genesis and the Gulf Oil Spill;" Immigration; Islam; Occupy Wall Street; Tea Party, "Tea Partiers Past and Present;" Supreme Court on the Affordable Care Act "God Save the United States and this Honorable Court;" the South, "United States of the South;" States' Rights; the War on Drugs; People - include, Paul Broun, "Georgia's Neanderthal Congressman;" Barney Frank, "Barney & Friends the Sequel;" Christopher Hitchens, "Christopher Hitchens Tribute;" Rush Limbaugh, "ools Rush Limbaugh" and "Fools Rush Limbaugh, Part II;" Sarah Palin, "Farewell Sarah" (one of several) and Politics - a whole lotta politics - 2008 and 2012 Presidential Elections and Candidate Profiles include, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorium; Atlanta Mayoral, Georgia Gubernatorial and Senate Elections; Congress, "Our Royal Bloated Congress;" Conservatism, including, among others, "A Happy Conservative;" "The Case for Conservative Populism;" "A Look at The Legends from Burke to Reagan;" Georgia Legislature; Republican Party, including, "Should the GOP Become More Libertarian?" The pages of It's in the Telling...vividly attest to countering the stifling nostrums of political correctness and "do not go there" topics. Many Americans wake-up every day looking to be offended. While others cower in fear of offending. Instead they whisper, rather than risk the blistering ire of the PC Police. It's in the Telling...does not. The best history - including contemporary history - is good reading born of good writing. It's in the Telling...is good reading. Whatever your persuasion, political or otherwise, you are bound to agree or disagree, to be offended or delighted or all of these. "You may not like some of what I say, but I think you will like the way I say it. It's in the telling," - Charles Jackson.

The universe is big. We are small. It is all too easy to get lost in the immensity of it all, caught up in everyday living. But if we pause for a few seconds, breathe deeply and look around we may just notice how amazing this universe is. How each and every one of us are unique within the chaos of the heavens. The Randomness of Me is a reflection of lived experiences from one of these unique, random, small beings in this big, amazing universe.

The classic tale of one man's struggle with alcoholism, this revolutionary novel remains Charles Jackson's best-known book-a daring autobiographical work that paved the way for contemporary addiction literature. It is 1936, and on the East Side of Manhattan, a would-be writer named Don Birnam decides to have a drink. And then another, and then another, until he's in the midst of what becomes a five-day binge. The Lost Weekend moves with unstoppable speed, propelled by a heartbreaking but unflinching truth. It catapulted Charles Jackson to fame, and endures as an acute study of the ravages of alcoholism, as well as an unforgettable parable of the condition of the modern man.
Ruller glasset i hånden. Når først det er drukket, er der ingen vej tilbage. "Man drak, og det var ved at slå én ihjel. Hvorfor?
