Eventually Jacqueline has a spiritual experience at the edge of the river, where she experiences being swallowed up by a crocodile. Laura also goes to Brazil, at the same time and she does some modelling work in Rio de Janeiro. There she meets an obsessive celebrity, who later follows her to South Africa. He abducts her and forces her to accompany him on a trip to Greece.
