This is a collection of original poems by Christopher Bursk. The poems are inspired by Vergil's Aeneid and deal with modern issues of love, loss, family, masculinity, and more. Many of the epigraphs are in Latin from the Aeneid and some are translated into English.

Since its inception in 1967, the ""Pitt Poetry Series"" has been a vehicle for America's finest contemporary poets including Poet Laureate Billy Collins, Toi Derricotte, Denise Duhamel, Lynn Emanuel, Bob Hicok, and, Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winner Ted Kooser. This work is a collection of the best work from this series.

This collection follows the physical and emotional struggles of a young boy growing up in 1950s America as he attempts to understand himself and the world around him. Winner of 2004 Donald Hall Prize in Poetry, and the 2006 Milton Kessler Poetry Book Award.
