In the Sixties the huge demographic known as the Baby Boomers had a vague idea to change the way society was conducting itself. They wanted an end to war, racism, possibly even to the oppressive capitalist system. But there were insidious forces to conquer that they were not prepared for, backed by the most powerful military in history. What happened to the Love Generation? This book examines what happened. It goes back to the New Deal, which gave this huge demographic opportunities never seen before, into the fifties, the "Beats", rock and roll, the Summer of Love, Woodstock, and into the Seventies when it seemed that the Sixties consciousness suddenly had sold out to the "establishment". But what is that simple? Or where there sinister forces at work to ensure that the establishment maintains its status quo for the corporate elite? This book examines that question.
