"The Apology" is a story about life and the lessons one chooses to learn. The wisdom contained is universal and relevant, with the potential for a paradigm shift a real possibility for those that follow it. "In his book, Mr. Lawrence draws from his own life experiences, carefully and skillfully describing the major experiences in his life and how they impacted on his personal, social, mental and spiritual growth. Each experience is like a piece of life's puzzle. He has gone back over his entire lifetime, looked at each piece and saw how they fit into the total picture of his own spiritual development and philosophy. As the youngest in a family of 11 children, he was brought up in deeply religious Catholic surroundings. As a youngster, he demonstrated uncommon sensitivity toward people and animals, particularly disadvantaged children and injured animals. To illustrate, he nursed or treated birds, dogs and horses, often without financial remuneration. As a Reiki Master, he helped people overcome chronic pain and physical conditions that were impairing their lives. His compassion and willingness to help people and animals intensified throughout his life. His life was not without bumps in the road. Physical difficulties stemming from a genetic condition plagued him. He had family quarrels and disputes. Mr. Lawrence sees this as part of the lessons he had to learn. The underlying lesson is one of unconditional love toward family, friends, people and animals. This is his overriding message. We are all here to love and support others with whatever talents and skills we have. He backs up his words with examples of undertakings he personally made on behalf of others. These include spiritual guidance, physical treatments and the distribution of pain-freeing discoveries from the Orient. "The Apology" is a powerful and transforming book. Mr. Lawrence's words of wisdom will inspire you. It will help guide you to a more fulfilling, rewarding and meaningful life. It is a book everyone should read who wants a greater understanding of who we are and why we are here." William Frederick, C.S.W.
