Instant Revit!: Commercial Drawing Using Autodesk(R) Revit(R) 2015 This book is for students that have some experience using Autodesk Revit. The book contains step-by-step project tutorials with screenshots using the Revit program. The units for the projects are in Imperial (Feet & Inches) units. The book consists of the drawing of a one-story commercial building. A three-dimensional model of the project will be developed and used to create views of the: floor plan, longitudinal section, interior and exterior elevations, wall sections, and detail views of the structure. Some of these drawings will be annotated with dimensions and notes. Door, window, and room finish schedules will be also be created. Once these drawings are completed, the student will then create design options of the structure. This allows the design to be presented with multiple styles or options within the same file. There is also a companion website for the book that is maintained by the author. Purchasers of the book will be able to view demonstration videos of the tutorials and download files that are used for the project. Revit families are presented as part of the project. Families are groups of elements that may be added to the project such as: furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, lighting, HVAC components, people, vehicles, etc... The student will utilize these files to add various elements to their project. Family files are also provided from manufacturer's sites and the companion website. Students will then be guided through the process of creating perspective views and renderings of the project. Instruction includes use of the Autodesk 360 site to process renderings within a cloud. In the case of the conviction and imprisonment of Captain Alfred Dreyfus on false espionage charges in late-19th century France, the initially small number of people who doubted the government and the press and worked for justice for Captain Dreyfus were known as "Dreyfusards." Doubt about the official version of the story of how President Bill Clinton's deputy White House Counsel Vincent W. Foster, Jr., died was also confined to a few individuals in the early days, at least among those who would speak up. By the terminology borrowed from France, David Martin was an original "Dreyfusard." In time, he was joined by people with a higher profile, but after Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr's team rendered its long-delayed opinion that the original "suicide" judgment had been correct, most of them dropped by the wayside. Demonstrating the same sort of incisive analysis that he showed in The Assassination of James Forrestal and The Martyrdom of Thomas Merton, written with Hugh Turley, Martin makes a persuasive case that justice is yet to be done in the case of Vince Foster's death. A major reason for the difference, Martin explains, is that the press and the ruling establishment of the United States have been much more monolithic on the side of injustice than were those institutions in France at the turn of the 20th century. This book is destined to be the definitive reference work for anyone interested in this high-level murder mystery, as Martin fashions it, while, at the same time, it reveals a great deal about the nature of the controlling power of the United States at the turn of the 21st century.

Say what you will about Donald Trump but he has been a godsend to those of us who write political satire. For the last two years, hardly a day has passed without some crazy pronouncement from Mr. Trump that inspired me to write a humor piece. The only problem is that with such daily craziness, it's often difficult to stay ahead of the satirical curve. Once the golden days of the eight-year reign of George W. Bush came to an end, it looked pretty bleak for those trying to create political humor. With Barack Obama in office, there wasn't much to dislike, much less satirize. But then the unthinkable happened; Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton and brought his 24/7 circus show to the White House. Much as my sensible side lamented the defeat of the Democratic candidate, my devilish side celebrated the possibility of four (or maybe even eight) years of non-stop comic material. So here we are at the end of Trump's first year in office and I am blessed with a surfeit of written pieces. In one short year, I have matched my outlet for the entire first term of George W. Bush. At this rate, it looks like I may have to produce an annual volume just to keep up with The Donald. For now, here's the result from "Donnie's First Year."
