In 2022, International Theological Seminary (ITS) marked its 40th anniversary of preparing leaders for the global church. This milestone offered a unique opportunity to reflect on the institution's rich history and the profound impact it has had on countless students. Among those who have significantly shaped ITS are long-time professors and former presidents, Joseph Tong and Melvin Loucks, who have dedicated their lives to teaching and mentoring students. In their honor, we are thrilled to present this commemorative book. This book explores theology, mission, and leadership through a global lens, featuring insightful essays from scholars and practitioners deeply engaged in ministry within the majority world. These contributors bring a wealth of experience and perspectives, exploring contemporary ministry trends, innovative leadership approaches, missiological models, and diverse theological viewpoints. We aspire for this compilation to be a resource for pastors, teachers, and lay leaders committed to impactful ministry across the globe.

The unprecedented movement of people in the 21st century is a central theme in mission circles. With this movement comes suffering and pain for people who must adjust to the reality of living in a new environment, away from the homeland. The experience of people in diaspora is not uniform with communities able to adapt well while others experience discrimination and social exclusion. In Canada, diaspora communities officially termed Visible Minorities bear the brunt of marginalization. As God has revealed his redemptive purpose to the nations through migration and immigration, then it is also imperative for missiologist to consider the role of diaspora marginality within His plan for the nations. This book is a missiological study of diaspora marginality. It seeks to provide a framework for understanding marginality beyond the social dimension and anchor it on the nature of the Triune God and his mission.

The purpose of this book is to provide an ethnographic description of Ghanaian Diaspora and Protestant congregations in the USA. This book on African diaspora is a "case study" of diaspora missiology in action. Two African diaspora congregations in Europe and five Ghanaian Presbyterian congregations in the USA are highlighted to showcase how "diaspora missiology" is strategically supplementary to the "traditional mission paradigm" in the new demographic reality of the 21st century. Two major considerations compose this case study on Ghanaian diaspora and congregations in the USA: an academic ethnographic description with regard to the distinctive markers of diversity, identity, and receptivity of the Gospel in the multicultural USA society, followed by practical missiological understanding of the formation, development, and mobilization for mission of the USA Ghanaian Protestant Churches.

When missionaries encounter other religions, they often face ?religious shock.? They learn to know deeply committed Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists who defend their faiths with strong arguments and raise questions the missionaries have not faced. The missionaries are forced to reconsider old stereotypes and to think more deeply about the foundations of their own faith.Likewise, Christians in ?Christian countries? increasingly meet people from different religious backgrounds. They, too, are challenged to rethink often simplistic stereotypes of other religions and how to bear witness to the gospel. Accordingly, churches must help their members respond faithfully to religious pluralism, laying biblical foundations for a bold witness, one that speaks the truth in love.Christian Witness in Pluralistic Contexts in the Twenty-First Century is not a set of textbook answers on how to witness to Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, and others with simple formulas. It contains the wrestlings, affirmations, and testimonies of people who have been deeply involved in ministering to people of other religious faiths. The contributors have thought deeply about the issues that religious pluralism raises. As they testify to their experience and the lessons they've learned, readers will be encouraged and gain wisdom to faithfully navigate the pluralistic contexts.
