Felix (Ludwig Julius) Dahn Geboren am 9. Februar 1834 in Hamburg; gestorben am 3. Januar 1912 in Breslau. Dahn war der älteste Sohn einer deutsch-französischen Schauspielerfamilie. In München begann er ein Jura- und Philosophiestudium; später wechselte er nach Berlin, wo er zum Dr. jur. promovierte. Nach seiner Habilitation bekam er eine Dozentur u.a. für Deutsches Recht an der Universität München. 1863 wurde er a.o. Professor in Würzburg, 1872 erhielt er einen Lehrstuhl in Königsberg, 1888 in Breslau. Er war verheiratet mit Therese von Droste-Hülshoff (1845-1929), einer Nichte von Annette von Droste-Hülshoff. Wo der Rheinstrom in zahlreichen Mündungen die Nordsee, - das germanische Meer - erreicht, da wohnten um die Mitte des ersten Jahrhunderts unserer Zeitrechnung, aus der heute noch nach ihnen benannten batavischen Insel und auf dem linken Ufer des Flusses die Bataver und, als ihre Nachbarn im Norden, auf dem rechten Ufer, die kleinere Völkerschaft der Kánnenefáien. Beide, nahe verwandt, waren schon lange bevor Julius Cäsar in Gallien erschien, hier eingewandert...
